My dealership installed PPF on my car. There are 4 spots where there is something under the ppf. Looks almost like lint. It does not cause a bump in the PPF so it is not a hard object.

I would prefer to wait a couple months before I take it back, am I correct in assuming the ppf will prevent movement so no scratches? Or do I risk paint damage?

If there is something trapped under the PPF you should have demanded that the dealer remove those items and replace the PPF.

I totally agree with you, Dan B should not wait. This is not something that you wait months for to correct.

The owner of the shop that did my PPF installation inspected the car with me when the job was completed and we discovered some little dark spots under the PPF on my trunk. Without me saying anything he immediately instructed his people to remove the piece, make sure the trunk was spotless and replace the PPF.

By the way, the odds are that the dealer outsourced this PPF work and they didn't do a close inspection when the job was completed. They are responsible, this is their problem, not Dan B's!

Out of curiosity did the dealer do PPF allover the car or just the front?

Did they use a known brand of PPF product?

Did they give you a warranty on the PPF?

How much did you pay?

Full front, rear bumper, lower half including wheel arches, plus ceramic on everything

I don't recall exactly, I can look it up at home, but I think it was about $2800.

I think it really depends where it is and how bad it looks. It's difficult for any PPF installer to completely avoid something getting under the PPF during install. You could have the hood redone to remove 1 speck and end up with 2 or 3 specks... PPF is almost never 100% perfect.
