Eibach Pro-Kit Installed On 24 M240i xDrive

Initial impressions - looks perfect. Exactly the amount of drop I wanted. Only just under an inch.

Ride quality is still maintained. A bit firmer ride. Still very comfortable. Steering and handling is improved. Steering is more responsive.

I might have to toss my eibachs on they have been sitting in the garage for a while now, I was hoping they would TSB the thump so I could avoid them blaming the springs later on for it but it doesn't seem like that will happen anytime soon. The cars look so good lowered even an inch.

Yep. And spacers front and rear. I personally have 13mm front and 13mm rear.

The Eibachs take just enough of the gap out of the wheel well to make it look much better . And it still is a very comfortable ride.

Yeah I have been putting if off to because I have been looking for wheels, problem I have ran into is I love the 826m look but they poke a little much in the back. Otherwise the aftermarket stuff that looks good is all 20 inch and I don't know if I want to do that.

I'm kind of in the same boat with wheels. I love the way 20s look on our car, but fitment is limited. And I would only want something lighter than the stock set-up.

For now I will be content with the stockers. Just can't believe it's 225/255 stock from BMW. Even on my G37 I ran 275s in the rear.

Yeah that's why i went for the 791s you get the increased speed limit of 155 and they were staggered if you got performance summer tires. To me the ztk wheels looked like some cheap konigs from back in the day. So end of the day at least the 791s look good. I did swap the tires after like 1k miles one of the sidewalls bubbled pretty bad on the p0s so I'm running ps4s now and its a much better ride both noise and handling.

Garage List
I have mines in my garage. Thinking about doing it this weekend but the snow makes me lazy. You did it by yourself?

No, this is one thing i had a shop do. Specifically a shop that had already installed springs on another m240i

I always recommend doing suspension work at a shop

I agree. If you run into an issue, or don't have all the right tools, or you get a stripped bolt or something, then your vehicle is stuck in your garage out of commission

And I'm very happy with how much the ride quality has been maintained with these springs.

Hey I plan on going Eibachs as well. Just curious how much stiffer the ride is compared to stock? There's a lot of bumpy roads and potholes in Cali so I'm worried that the ride might be too harsh.

Honestly - not much stiffer.

I would say maybe 20% stiffer , if I had to put a number on it.

And so far , speed bumps , driveways , inclines etc , haven't been an issue whatsoever. Haven't scraped on anything.

FYI I have been on my Eibach springs for about 5 months and my struts have finally given way and are shot. The car is bouncing around all over the place now. May need to move to coilovers if I want to maintain the drop with EDC. Considering the Evo S kit. Hope you have better luck!

That seems pretty fast, how many miles how are your roads?

I was going to say, that seems pretty out of the ordinary. The Eibach springs are only a 3/4-inch drop. That would be like your shocks going out after driving around with four heavy passengers for 5 months.

I'm not saying you are incorrect or lying, I'm just saying that tens of thousands of people have Eibach springs that giving mild drop on their vehicles

The bmw tech took a picture of the leaking from the strut. I only have 20k miles on the car. He warned me this would probably happen, and sure enough it did. Hopefully others have better luck!

I dropped my e92 M years ago without issue and have dropped plenty of other BMWs and Porsches and this is a first for me. The thought did cross my mind to just replace with OEM struts (since I would like to maintain the EDC) but I run the risk of them blowing out again and I don’t want to be out the labor multiple times. One thing is certain: I am not going back to the OEM springs as the first five months on the lowered Eibachs was pure joy.
