G42 Trunk Mat Rant
I regret paying nearly $200 for this mat. It doesn't line up properly, won't stay tucked in, and still lets in dirt. It doesn't even look like it was made by BMW.
That's the end of my rant.

You’ve been done mate.
I paid £62 for mine (approx 80USD). It’s genuine and fits perfectly. From the photos, it looks you may need to shape it a bit. The edges tuck under and sit in the groves of the removable floor panel. |

I have this one. Fits all the way to the edges, has extra bits for the small side cubbies, and is waterproof.

As you should. I ended up selling mine since it was past the return period, and I bought the 3D mat and never looked back. The factory one is just trash with its horrible design, sliding backing, and coverage. Don't even think twice about keeping it unless you really love the design and are a part-time masochist.

I really love mine. I've thrown pretty heavy Costco-filled pallets in there and it doesn't budge. And it's hella durable and not too bad on the eyes ( I am not a fan of the 3D badge, but that's minor).

Yeah I was surprised how good this mat actually is. Also very happy with it, but would rather it didn’t have the 3D badge. The badge would be pretty easy to remove, but there would be the locator holes…

Ok boys and girls, I went ahead and bought the WeatherTech mat, it came rolled up in the box ... I am about to return this warped piece of recycled tire next.
Take a look.

I too have a distinct dislike for the OEM one, never fitted properly, even after heat and reshaping, slid with any load.
I finally got a much better one from carmats4u (UK), not perfect but huge improvement, the OEM now goes in as a second layer if I've mucky things to transport.
