Positive Thoughts Thread

Did y'all really expect to love this car? I mean I am in the boat, I am disappointed. (Imagine if they just produced the CSL Hommage)

Everyone was so quick yesterday to go from "omg pulling my deposit" to "ehhhh actually this angle isn't too bad" in less than 24 hours.

Let's wait another 16 days before we start complaining too much.

There are so many aspects of this vehicle that make it an upgrade from the F87. What are they?

Did you just title the post "positive thread" and then go into your disappointment? Lmao.

I'm first for allocation so I'll be picking it up. S58. Lower it, I'm sure mods will be dope, as well as Cf package etc.

Fuck the haters, just like the G80/82.

I think the car will look good overall, especially lowered and with a flush offset. I'd be lying if I didn't still say I was worried about how the rear bumper will look once it's revealed. On the 'positive' side there is a M Performance bumper which might be nicer.

Ultimately I can't wait to get behind the wheel of this car. 6mt, RWD, and the S58 are the biggest reasons I wanted this car. I haven't given up on the cosmetics yet as I'll wait to see the official pictures. Also any car can be made to look good with a few simple mods.

I actually like the way it looks. Front and profile especially, rear looks funky at that angle and it's not a very flattering color for this car. I'm not a fan of fake vents and badges everywhere so this works for me. I'm sure many people will change their opinion once official photos/videos come out and people eventually see it in person. Other colors will help as well. This having a S58 w/RWD, 6MT, carbon buckets and carbon roof is appealing to me.

Another positive is that all current F87 owners have apparently become millionaires overnight (if not already) thanks to this car, so you'd imagine they're pretty happy too right now

Don't get fooled and put off by the pictures leaked yesterday. A picture cannot always accurately represent what our eyes and brains can process IRL:

Regardless of how it looks, it’s going to be a big performance and driving upgrade over the F87.

Keping 'positive', I can tell you all that speaking to people that've actually seen the car IRL, people who spent a lot of time with it and took pictures of it without camo, etc. tell me it's a good looking car overall and that the leaked pics don't do it justice. They say it's really wide and aggressive looking, especially from the rear. What I really want to see is not just pics, but a video walkaround of the car.

I believe the blue ones the first version of the M2. They're going to surprise us with a better look coming.... Crossing fingers!

Really, why tack on an aftermarket, fake, non-functional side vent? Sorry, but that reeks poser.

Because it sorely needs them and I'm not sure I feel like paying whatever BMW wants for their M performance ones which I'm sure will be the entire body panel and not just the vent. Also plan on getting a GTS hood so posing here I come!

Everyone calls them vents, but that's for lack of a better term. They're also commonly called M Gilles, Side Grilles, Side Emblem, Fender Grilles, etc. I don't think they have to be functional 'vents' per se to be on the car just because people keep calling them 'vents'. Think of it as just another M design cue.

They were used on the on the F87, like this M2cs here.

The M3/4 don't pretend that they are vents, but they're aesthetically pleasing on an M car IMO.

It's a crime the Z4 gets them and not the G87. The Z4 is the perfect size, gets better exterior/interior color options and now they're going to offer it with a manual. If it wasn't for it being a convertible, Z4 would be my pick. I may have to rethink some things

Tag, I am well aware what they are as well as what they are called. I have been with the marque for 26 years.

Positives: True baby M4 with M3 hips, S58 with manual, no big grilles, very positive initial reviews good to read and hear.
