There’s nothing written in stone but July allocations should line up with a September production which should be the SOP for new model year. But again, new colors are not a definite thing for 2024 and certainly not at SOP, yet…There has been various reporting on the new colors and none of them officially state when and what will be available. One hopes they’re available 9/24…

Certainly there are CAs in here who could hopefully shed more light or clarify any erroneous info I’ve shared.

I would say your statement is accurate.

I was offered around 46 for my 2019 M2C with 20k miles... OG's probably 30's

In other news... my production date is in less than 2 weeks! Hopefully the buckets don't cause any delays like I've heard. Checking the app daily

Probably because 2021 is newer than 2019? Lol.

Looks like my order got delayed, originally supposed to begin production may 1st, now set for end of june,

Genius line thinks its because of carbon pack, anyone find anything similar?

I went status 111 last week and was told early June for production. I also have the carbon pack so hoping this doesn’t effect my build with delays. Will keep you updated too if I hear anything

When I was in the market for the supra I was also looking at m2c’s and they were slightly more expensive across the board

Hard to compare to what BMW is offering for trade-in. Values have gone down a lot in the last year. I was offered low 50's previously.

I'm sure if I traded in a Supra it would be a good bit less. Ofc M2C's are still more expensive private sale.

My build date was 2nd week of May... still at status 111. Have carbon pack also.
Really hoping this isn't the case for me as well... I just sold my M2C. Will be big sad If I have no car until August/Sept
Will ask my CA if he has info.

Just got a VIN assigned and moved to begin production. Super stoked! It forced me to go with my config so I’m sort of at peace now, couldn’t decide what would be the best combo of colors etc. Currently speccd as TR, M highlight seats, blue calipers, black wheels.

Talked to my CA, my week 18 production is now week 25, from mid May to end of June. Was told July delivery originally, now will likely be September.

Not happy... pretty pissed I sold my car so early.

Well, some of us #1 on lists folk at dealers with zero allocations so far would certainly jump at an allocation for production in May while the carbon-pack folks wait for their parts and June production.

Honestly, this is not a good look for BMW w.r.t. logistics and planning. Handing out production weeks if you don't have a good handle over your supply chain (carbon parts) is pretty basic stuff. So what are they going to do with those not-full-capacity production weeks, twiddle their thumbs?

I disagree it's a bad look for BMW. Production weeks are always, and have always been, only best guess estimates. If a dealer implied any certainty, then they did you a disservice, not BMW.

I would not assume that the plant is idle. First, they make more than G87s in the SLP plant, so they can move non-G87s forward. Second, they can build G87s without carbon. My car, for example, was built earlier than the estimated production date (has no carbon).

Honestly the dealer model as whole is a massive stain on car purchasing right now. I get that dealers are not going anywhere for several reasons but manufactures need to do something to fix these problems. We shouldn't have to battle with car dealers to purchase cars, trying to guess which ones are going to get allocations and then deal with ones with markups or unnecessary add-ons.

Ideally I wish we could order straight from the manufactures. Let us order through BMW, then BMW assign our order to a local dealer making them agree to sell at MSRP. Buying a car shouldn't be a stressful battle like it has turned into the past 4 years.

BMW is moving to a direct sales model in Europe in the next few years. Don’t think it’ll change in America though.

Although it’s frustrating, only couple months delay isn’t bad. Caddy has BW owners wait between 3-16 months after their car is built to get them. Yes you read that right, people’s $100k BWs literally sit 16 months on a GM parking lot for some dumb reason and no one can tell u why. And one day it just shows up at dealership. Ridiculous! BMW build seems magical…

Yeah there are bull shit laws in place here stopping it and with lobbying its not going to change anytime soon.

The frustration I am mainly referring to is everything before having a build/allocation. There are people like me who are at the top of the lists (and have been since last summer) with dealers that have not gotten any allocations while other dealers have gotten 5+. All the BS you have to go through to find a dealer, hope they move enough cars to get allocations, get them to agree to MSRP, then hope they honor everything. For all I know my dealer could have gotten multiple allocations but gave them to other people. A car is the second largest purchase behind a house for pretty much everyone and the process as a whole sucks.

Hell even if you walk into a dealer and buy a car off the lot they usually are keeping you there for 4+ hours going through the whole song and dance. The whole car buying process is archaic and is need of a revamp, especially for enthusiast cars.
