Anyone coding on his/her own?

Hi, I need to code some parts and the guys at BMW are trying hard to be dumber than they usually are and say it is not possible to code a CCC if they don't have some numbers different from the part number... the numbers that come in the box the say!

I know there are some OBD II cables and other options. Has anyone tried this?

Thanks, any advice will be really appreciated.
