Have your say, what roof option are you ordering?

What would your ultimate spec look like to order?

Carbon Roof?
Sun Roof?
Steel Roof?

Some countries get the Carbon roof standard (Australia), some get the sunroof (USA) - some don't get to order either - why BMW, why??

I've got a G42 now and the sunroof is fantastic, quite large and certainly no rattles.

Carbon roof too mainly because in my current m340i the sunroof rattles like hell too and no matter how many times the dealer takes it in for 3-4 days at a time they can't fix it even though it's reproducible.

Had 4 so far (2 E46s, 1 E91, and 1 E90). Still rocking my E90 since 2008 and no rattle.

i did, multiple times, before they figured it was lubrication on the rails there was a bmw service bulletin about it

and then the tech told me try not to do car washes with wax on the top of the car cause it melts the plastic???

so now i need yearly relubrications at bmw i mean it's covered by warranty but still a pain in the ass to have to schedule for it and do it

The boot "thud" is a well known issue (to everyone except BMW as there's still no bulletin) but first Ive heard of the sunroof. What a pita!

I’ve previously had 5 other BMWs with sunroofs and everyone one of them had at least some amount of rattles and/or wind noise. But going down that path again because $2600 is more than I want to spend on CF. Steel slick top would have been my preference.

I like sunroofs as it brings more light into the cabin but I saw the real life pics of the M2 with the sunroof and absolutely hated the way it looks. So I ordered a carbon roof.

The mirror caps are factory body color unless you intend to wrap those too? The carbon fiber mirror caps would be a nice additional though I suspect they will be $800+ each.

If you want them for the M240i, they retail for $1,123.32 USD. I suspect the mirror cap dimensions are exactly the same for the G42 and G87 - so easily over $800+ USD.

FYI, That is full retail and per cap, not for both. They can be had via various BMW Centers online for $815 each. See attachment #2.

Standard practice. If individuals knew the actual markup they would not purchase factory BMW parts/accessories from various Centers that do not offer discounts.

Yep, either wrap or paint in black.

CF mirror caps will be nice for the ones that will go with CF roof/parts.
