This really comes as no surprise

And as many of us have suspected. This thing is going to be amazing! See screenshot.

TBH I saw Shmee's reaction on track with his smile lit up and that put me over the edge to buy. My concerns are the effectiveness of the adaptive suspension and being somewhat comfortable for road trips, and the gearing on any highway use. I don't want to be buzzing along over 3k...

As it's based on the G8X platform, I'm sure the grip levels will be a lot higher than the F series cars - and the torque a lot more linear. Drove the G82 M4 back-to-back with the F87 M2 last year at the M school and I can tell you the G series cars were more predictable in handling and cornering = more confidence pushing it harder (but not to take anything away from the F87, going sideways was a lot of fun)

Drive an M3/M4 G series and you'll find the ride is incredible comfortable and highway cruising is well bellow 3k

I'm referring to 6spd manual cars, not 8spd auto.

The manual has no impact in the adaptive suspension

Speaking of the 6 speed, the last manual BMW I drove was an E92. I wonder if the G80 6-speed is any different (hopefully better) than the E92 assuming we are getting the same exact transmission as the one in G80…

I think he is referring to gearing. Since the AT has 8 gears and MT 6, that would affect engine cruising speed.

I don't think the great performance is a surprise to anyone, even the F87 owners (especially after the G42's performance).

Most just have issue with the blocky, uninspiring aesthetic. Go outside this forum if you want a broader perspective on its looks.

Only worried on my own perspective on the G87. I love the looks and glad it’s so different than my F87 since I’m planning to have both in the garage .

What’s weird to me are folks taking time to shit post on a car they supposedly dislike and don’t want.

It is really weird. I typically don't spend a lot of time on forums of vehicles I don't like. It seems like a lot of BMW posters like to disparage anything that's not what they are currently driving.
