BMW Handling...
i dont know if u guys remember the story about me getting a flat and had to drive on it for 3 hrs to get home. I noticed that when i turn right, the car is VERY solid (it hugs the curves like crazy) but when i turn left, it doesnt feel as solid. I dont know if this makes sense: the car grips to the road very well on right turns but seems to slip/not grip as well on left turns. I was wondering if this is because of the rim where the flat was. I took it back to the dealer and they balanced it and it seemed a lil better. Now it's happening again...any comment?? thanks

Assuming that the left front wheel is still on the left front, the symptoms are inconsistent with left wheel damage.
When you turn right, most of the front end weight is shifted to the left front tire, especially under hard braking. Yet, you say that your right turns are solid, and that problems arise when you make left turns. Modified race cars that have stiff front ends will even occasionally raise the inner wheel and tire when turning. Look at how the car's weight is shifted OFF the front right tire in the picture below. |

True that. I'm thinking he's not making his turns at that kind of speed. Could be an alignment / balance problem or it is possbile that something else was damaged besides the tire when he got his flat.

I agree with all the comments shared by others above. Did you have the front end aligned as well? Camber/caster, toe-in/toe-out as well? Have service look at your front suspension.

Could it also be the fact that on left hand turns there's always more of an angle being taken....as opposed to right hand turns that are in the closest lane?
Know what I mean? |

Some questions you could ask yourself.
1. Are all the tires at the correct pressure? 2. Was the replacement tire correct? (make, size, rotational direction?) 3. Are all the tires worn about the same? 4. Does it make a difference whether you have a passenger? |

Wait, r u saying after you drove 3 hours on a run-flat tire.. you got it FIXED..? You can't do that, you have to REPLACE the flat tire. And they are $$ Usually they are destroyed after you drive on them... the point is you don't have to change the tire, just keep on driving until you get a chance to get a new one. |
