Seat memory connected to key

Hi
Is the seat memory connected to the key, or the idrive profile, or the memory preset 1 or 2? How do you preset a new seat-memory on the key, and digital key? Whenusing the key and digital key the seat gets to different possitions.

Yes, you can align your settings to your fob. Starts on page 63 in your owner's manual. Once set up it'll adjust the seat, mirrors, and other settings when you walk up to the vehicle with that fob.

All of the above.

Your fob is connected to your iDrive profile, which is what loads up upon entering your vehicle. Based on the profile, the seat will adjust accordingly.

In order to save the seat setting, just set it before you start driving and it will ‘remember’ the seat settings for next time.

My wife has her own fob and the car knows when she’s driving with it vice me.

Additionally, you may set the 1/2 seat memory buttons if you need them.

What I've found in my wife's X3MC is that the 1/2 buttons also appear to be set to the fob. For example, sometime's I'll jump in when her fob is in & hit the preset button on the door to move the seat back. The next time she drives with her fob, the seat settings are messed up & vice versa when I use my fob.

Not sure if the presets override the fob or what, but I just make sure to use the appropriate fob when I drive her car now.
