Traffic Camera App

Anyone has real life experience using this? I received an offer for BMW for $25 a year and impulsively got it thinking it could help avoiding tickets since Cali is being active again regarding red light cameras but I have never experienced it.

I am also interested in the extent of the app, does it cover stop light only or including speed. When you say CA being active again, you must be referring to "speed" cameras to be installed in Los Angeles, Glendale, Long Beach, San Francisco, San Jose and Oakland. The cameras will trip at 11 mph over the speed limit.

This feature has been a life saver for us in nyc. Well worth the $25! Alerts for speed cams and light cams

Have this feature on my wife's Santa Fe. Never knew I had it since it never went off once in two years living in Texas. Went back to New York metro area for a visit last summer. The thing would never shut up. It seemed that every other intersection had a red light camera. Saved me big time. Glad I dont live there anymore.

I've had it pop up and tell me a mobile radar was several hundred feet ahead.

I don't believe that municipalities are allowed to use traffic light cameras (for speeding or running red lights) in TX. Because of that, I don't believe that feature is worth the price in TX.

Move/drive in the UK and then come back and complain. Seriously out of hand there. Massive revenue-generating scheme.

On the busy roads where they are common, a driver has to be blind to miss them as they are by law very well marked. On the motorways / 'Smart' motorways with the gantry cameras and variable speed limits, there isn't much opportunity to exceed the speed limit due to congestion. All the interesting country roads with minimal traffic have very few cameras, if any.

It also picks up stationary & mobile radar. I drove from Austin to DFW last night and it alerted me 4 times to mobile radar ahead. For $25 for the year, that's not bad.

Nice. Does it just start working in the background once subscribed and activated? Or it needs further configuration in iDrive?

An app is added but it’s just to turn it on and off. I think a free two week or a month trial is included prior to subscription.
