How Many Miles On Your G87 M2?

I've owned my G87 for almost 4 months and I'm at 3,150 miles. Including a trip to Dallas for PPF and a trip to Arkansas to rip the mountain roads. Usually, the car sits during the week and is my weekend fun car.

I'm considering taking the G87 on a trip to Austin while the G87 is still a somewhat 'new' vehicle. After Austin on to the Hill Country to check out the bluebonnets and possibly rip the Three Sisters a bit one day.

My 'goal' (if I were to declare one) would be to simply not do more miles than the term of the warranty allows. So, like 1k a month or so and budget miles if I go over a month, etc.

I'm curious how many miles others have? Are you keeping your car very low miles for resale? Driving it and enjoying it without concern for resale?

It looks like production numbers are going to be hitting like 19k per year maybe? I'm guessing there will soon be a number of second hand G87s on the market. Not certain how that will impact value or if the car market is just tanking so hard recently it may not matter much?

If you come to Austin, I'll buy you a beer or a coffee for a chance to take it for a spin. Dying waiting for mine and haven't ever driven one.

Between August 8th when I took delivery and when I got my beater mid January, I was daily drinking find the car and going to a bunch of events. I put just a hair over 10,800 miles.

Since getting the beater I don't drive it anywhere near as much. Currently sitting at 11,154 miles.

Not concerned with depreciation as I'm not planning to sell this car.

Well, I appreciate the offer. Not sure I'm going to be letting anyone drive though. I believe it was on here that I noticed somebody sharing a story about a 'friend' they let drive who abused the privilege and caused the dude a lot of heartache over it.

If you haven't been able to go for a ride I might see if I can make time to take you for a quick spin. Honestly, I don't have a tight itinerary in mind. The usual - Guerrero's, Waterloo, maybe some BBQ. IDK for sure yet. I'm looking right now in fact.

As of this morning, 4,401. Purchased Nov 28. I drive between Dallas & Austin weekly so it gets more miles than I would like. I'll be home all Summer so the mileage should even out. As long as it stays reliable, I'm not planning to sell. I keep all my vehicles in pristine condition, so the plan is to give this to my son when he graduates college (6 years from now).

1350 miles on mine and I picked it up on 1/22/2024. My current plan is to keep the car, no plan to sell in the future. I won't care about future resale but I will be curious on the used market for the G87 (and different models) over the years and how things compare to how the used F87 market has played out.

2500 since October; mostly highway miles averaging 21.8 mpg.

If we purchase another car, will give this to one of our kids or grandkids.

5,445 miles, have had the car since April 20th 2023. Work from home most of the time and living in the PNW, I take the GTI out in the winter months because PS4S* don't really work well when it gets this cold.

6528 mi since April 2023.
Car is a daily but my commutes are short, with some days working from home.
Most days I can barely get oil temp to spec on my commute. Annoying.

Nice.
I have an ich for golf R after watching recent Throttle House. Always had a weakness for hot hatches.

Did they say something good about hot hatches? I was a very avid watcher of ThrottleHouse until they started to really go into BMWs and how terrible the new ones are. Then came to this forum to try to defend their bizarre stance. Almost every new video that came out for a period or time, even if it had absolutely nothing to do with BMW, they would try to bring up why they hated the brand for some reason or another.
The Golf R is a great little car. You can stuff so much in it (that's what she, never mind), it's comfortable, quickish (not fast by any means but fun) and most importantly it's tossable and direct. The downside is the damn seats, no matter what I do, I can't seem to get comfortable in them, and thats after driving like 23K miles in almost 5 years.

They do shit on BMWs for some reason, including the infamous g87 video.
They’re still entertaining enough to watch.
One of them recently bought golf R as personal vehicle, with accompanying video.
My last hot hatch was a mazdaspeed3.

I got mine on 1/30/2024, and it just went over 1500 miles. I always drive my cars as much I like, so not concerned about mileage.

1,350 miles - Delivered Dec 27th 2024. So all miles are in New England winter with summer tires - I think each mile counts for 10

I don't take that overly personally, but as for me I'm not at all concerned about resale honestly. I don't have any immediate plans to sell unless something unexpected comes up. I'm just curious how others feel about this.

When I sold my S550 PP1 Mustang last summer I was amazed by the number of super low miles Mustangs there were for sale. 5 plus years old with maybe 5k miles in some cases. It sort of made me sad to think of all the enjoyment I had with mine and these guys were maybe only getting $5k more for their car if they were lucky.

My philosophy is simply to try to make the warranty last as long as possible. I'm not enthused about repairs out of pocket. It remains to be seen if any issues come up that make me want to sell once the warranty runs out. I hope not.
