Which ships is it possible our cars are on and when do they/have they left?

Also, trying to figure out rate lock stuff, my rate lock is good until July 5th with my Credit Union. How long before the delivery date can you actually execute the purchase?

How are things looking? Absolutely comical.

Morning Concert is still bobbing around off port.

Grand Pioneer was a red herring.

Glovis Spirit looked promising for a minute but I think it was just there to play with our emotions.

With BMW FS you can execute 10 days prior.

Oh, and Morning Concert got pushed back AGAIN. WW is now saying tomorrow arrival with a June 1st departure, arriving SSI June 10th.

Just spoke to GENIUS and my car is apparently at the port (website shows still in final assembly) waiting for vessel assignment. Looks like i’ll be joining the MC party and tracking every inch of movement for that vessel for the next few days! 🤣

As far as the "executing 10 days prior", I'm assuming that's 10 calendar days prior to the performance center delivery date?

Do you know how it would be different with a credit union, my assumption is it would be the same 10 days since you need to complete purchase long enough ahead of time for them to send plates down.

Update, mine now says "Awaiting carrier assignment" and "A carrier has been assigned to take care of your BMW", which seem like conflicting statements. It's at status code 182.

I'm calling genius now to see if they have any other info..

I’m the same. Maybe we did make it on the Glovis ship. In the past it went thru all the post Reasy stages once it was onboard and it usually took 24-48 hrs to update. If we go thru the next few stages in the next few hours, we have our answer. Flipside, they’ve finally fixed the tracker and we’re still waiting for Morning Concert. I sincerely hope it’s the former.

Let me know what the Geniuses say.

I don’t know about CU rules. But I imagine each institution has their own.

If we’re on the GS it’s due In Brunswick in time for you take delivery before July 1. Well, in theory anyway, hoping the PC has a slot. You’ll beat me there as I have Port options, unless you’re stuck waiting for me…

Holy crap is that phone system a nightmare to get through, I couldn't figure out the magic words they wanted from me. Once I got through they were very nice though.

They said that I should have a boat assigned soon (a couple of days max) and that it'll be leaving the factory on a truck shortly. Not sure if they are correct on that or not, it's possible there's a lag in their info and it's actually on the boat now. I assumed it would have already been at the port.

Huh, I would assume it's not a CU rule but rather a BMW thing. Since the purchase has to be completed prior to delivery (for plates to be shipped) the delivery date doesn't seem like it would actually matter to the institution.

Did you get that 10 day info directly from the PC or from your dealer? I'm thinking I might shoot the PC an email.

Holy fuck, that would be a disaster. A forum member who has a friend in the factory said the Truckers are on a work slowdown/semi strike demanding more pay.

Geniuses guess more than anything. Mine just told me it’s been turned over to the loadmaster, meaning it’s being loaded onto the ship, he then added its most likely onboard already as it takes them “a day or two” to update the system.

My SM gave me the 10 day rule, not sure if it’s a systemwide or just PC. With Covid I’m sure they had to put new rules in place with all the electronic purchases.

Mine got the same status too, I’ve come to my senses with this dilemma though, the other day I added some m performance port accessories which should delay mine a bit more but I’m over it, not in a rush anymore.

The "waiting for a truck" thing seems to be a false alarm, I just hit

"At the port - Your BMW has arrived at the port. (Bon voyage!)" (status 193)

So, it looks like we actually made it onto the Glovis Spirit…If I were a betting man (I am), I would say we take delivery the end of the last week of June. We should try and get the same delivery day. After all, I feel like I know you already and you definitely have great taste in cars.

I already have my PC delivery person from prior visits, she’s awesome and we’ve been in touch thru this ordeal.

I agree, Glovis Spirit seems likely, based on what I've seen we should see an update to "In transit - 195" soon. If I see that I'll call the genius line again to confirm.

I would be happy to do it the same day as you, would be fun to get a picture with our pair of Toronto Red G87's. I'm supposed to be traveling for work the last week of June, but I might be able to move things around if I get a date offered to me. I'm hoping for a first week of July (my rate lock expires 7/5)
