Real talk! These are unreasonable for standard M2 tier seats.. They are basically some M240i seats with some blue stitching and rat fur. I'm guessing no individual leather color choices either.. #Sad🥲

I guess it's time to budget for some nutt-hugging, carbon fiber seat add on.. 😗

Well payed BMW😉
lol everyone needs to watch the video with the gentlemen from bmw saying they will have the exact same seats as the m3/4 and an option for carbon buckets.

My base Cayman 718 arrives in a few weeks. I wonder if I should trade it in next year for an M2…. I could use the back seats for kiddos but then again the mid engine Porsche could be my little escape. It won't be as fast but it should be just as enjoyable to drive with a manual transmission and optioned PASM suspension.

Starting to come together - looking good from what I can see. Looks like that front bumper leak was pretty close to real.

The CF seats look incredible, but getting in and out of them is a real pain in the anoose. Also don't want to sit in a La-Z-Boy.

Have you had extended time with them? I've had them in my G80 for 10 months. Once you get the left-hand-on-the-door-sill technique down it's not bad at all. As an extra benefit it essentially eliminates wear on the bolster.

It’s just more of the same of the car it replaces, but uglier. Despite the camouflage, you can still get an idea of what it looks like and, well, it isn't particularly pretty. True, it doesn't have a big grille, but that isn't saying much. Until the new M2 launches, just look at a new M240i versus an old M2. The M240i is a solid aesthetic downgrade.

Kinda sad you buy a car just to think about trading it in already—-without even taking delivery! consumerism has gone next level!

if you do have kids, M coupes are great. There is no substitute…

well I like it a LOT more than the outgoing M2, but that wasn't a high standard to clear. The last M2 always looked really soft and bulbous to me—not in a good way. I am glad they have returned to geometrical angles!

Cool. Thanks for the clarification. Busy day, I didn't get a chance to go through each individual video in detail yet but brass tax, from the photo posted above, for some reason, those standard seats in the M2 looks pretty basic.

Hitting 265kmph with no helmets. Smart.

I suppose BMW has them sign all sorts of gag orders and liability waivers... but still.. maybe show some responsible driving?

Shmee feels that this is the sweet spot for M cars. Glowing review. Im so curious to hear what the option list and M Perf parts will look like. The CF roof, at mi imum would be on my wish. Will they offer CF trunk and hood?
This Shmee video got me thinking.

I don't know. Those base seats look like the real thing, especially with M2 embossed in the leather and blue stitching(OG M2-like). Those very well could be the base M2 standard seats. The Comp could have M4 standard sport seats.

Look at the seats in very beginning of Joe Achilles review, those things look production ready.

Carbon seats and carbon roof are going to put this at around $78K. I bet base price upon launch in US will be $68,950

The common theme I'm getting is that the G87 still lives in the shadow of it's M3/4 siblings. Not necessarily a bad thing, I mean that's what we were getting with the F generation cars anyway, but I had hoped the brand had enough data points to inject some more unique DNA to the G car. Seeing as how it's likely the last we'll ever see of this type of car from BMW, I figured we'd be able to go out with a little more bang.

I guess the point I'm trying to make is that we're getting more of the same. Deep down, I was really hoping for a leap instead of a step

No way in hell the base M2 will be only 4K less than the base M3. It's definitely going to be under 65K
