US M2 Allocations

It was rumored that the first allocations in the US were going to become available simultaneously with yesterday’s launch. Any idea when this is actually supposed to happen?

Looks like we’re probably weeks out from dealers receiving their first allocations. Here was the timeline for the G42.

7/6/21 - Worldwide launch
8/25/21 - Pricing and ordering guides released
8/31/21 - First report of available dealer allocations

We may be looking at the middle or end of November, which is inline with production kicking off in December. Hoping for sooner, I want to lock it in ASAP and forget about it until delivery.

If this schedule is applicable to the G87, the action should start sometime next week.

Given the market launch is April 2023, this does give many of us hope that our builds will be ready spring/summer timeframe given they will have build a couple months of units prior to April.

I think we will learn a lot about these expectations however in the next two-three weeks.... I'm keeping expectations low haha.

Edit: I asked my sales dude and you're rightish. He said around 5%

BMWs rate right now is 5.79, which means most dealerships are going to do 6.79. 5% is wishful thinking unless you are going through a national bank or credit union. Caveat - I'm in PNW so other regions may be different. Check the financing tab of your local dealership's website.

Ideally, the FED will begin slashing rate hikes at the next meeting and then by April, rate hikes will have stopped entirely. It's tough to say when rates in general will begin their pullback to more normal levels but locking in these current rates is beyond me.

I plan on running my credit for a fresh financing proposal on delivery date (or as late as possible) as locking that in today is unlikely to get me a better rate than what will be available mid next year.

They've already said they're raising rates again in December.

Oh well, based on my number on lists, I might have to wait for a MY 2024 maybe MY 2025. Silver lining would be bigger down payment and possible lower rates.

Slashing rate hikes; cutting them down from the recent 75 basis points rate hikes.
