I just called the ‘Genius’ line and was told the car ‘should be on it’s way from the plant in Munich soon’.

Friday the person I spoke to asked if I was looking forward to receiving my M2 Competition.

Progress. Car finally left Quality Check for Final Assembly after 15 days. Here’s to hoping it doesn’t take another two weeks putting the emblems on.

My SM reached out to his NA rep, I believe that maybe behind the movement.

NA rep said they can’t get specifics on cars in 155 but said it’s usually a waiting on parts issue. Not sure why that wouldn’t be noted as it was in the famous G82 parts shortage/Covid era QC holds of up to 9 months. Maybe it has to reach a certain time of hold to get those updates or it could be that there was actually an issue that needed to be checked or it went thru the famous strip down behind closed doors where they quality check every little thing.

I hope you see movement soon.

I sent this to CodeSlinger the other day and thought I’d post it here as it could be helpful to other SOTDers. While I’ve been looking at SSI (Saint Simon’s Island aka Brunswick, GA) bound ships, I believe most if not all VCs (Vehicle Carrier) with BMWs onboard stop at Brunswick and these two ships are going up the East coast to other BMW VPC ports.

And currently there are other VCs in port or arriving very soon that could be picking up BMWs but I haven’t been able to confirm.

Does your VIR show SSIPOA (Brunswick)?

From looking at Vehicle Carriers from Veracruz/Altamira and considering the current backup of cars awaiting shipment, I’m thinking our cars will arrive in Brunswick, GA the first week of June.

I thought that some Texas bound cars were going by rail, no?

Also, these ships often travel to Galveston from Veracruz and then dip back to Altamira before then heading to the East Coast. Seems strange but I don’t know shit about shipping logistics.

FWIW - I was a week 18 production and called Genius today and was bumped back to week 25. The rep said, “every call I’ve got today was about people wondering what’s going on with the boats. I have a feeling there is logjam somewhere that might have pushed your production week back.”
