Agreed. From rear view those bumper pieces really breakup the "huge-ness" of that whole bumper. I mentioned elsewhere intially hating stick-on look fast parts and especially fake vents but the M2 needs this to help break up that rear end. It really looks that they designed this in originally and maybe took it out leaving a void.

Also the BMW spoiler where I think it is too much on an M240i works very well here. It adds balance to the bumper and brings your eyes up. Better than the M2 wing they offer.

Those fender spats or whatever you call them have to go. Too many stick on parts for a BMW.

Thanks for the pics. Love the side by side. Waiting on my PB and giving me ideas. The front lower really give the front a more aggressive look. Color matching both ends is interesting.

Gotta say, I rode next to a green m3c last week for a few miles and I dug it the most. If I went m3c, I’d go with a dark color, mellow out the beaver.

Those CF rear slats help break up the boxy rear, need to see them in person. Car does look pretty aggressive overall.

The bumper and headlamp fitment are bleh, like maybe the angle really excentuates the color difference, but even on a black one something is weird there for me....idk, not trying to hate! The regular 2 looks fine, so I'm not sure I just can't put my finger on it- almost like it's pushed too far forward and there's too much space by the headlamps, where the regular 2 matches the fender gap in the front so it's more symmetrical. OCD much? haha.

I'll stick to my G82. But honestly, no matter how nice it may look- I prefer more of a sporty "GT" type car and I think in it's current gen the M4 fits that bill for me. Congrats on any new M2 owners!

There is nothing that will help the Bucktooth Beaver nose on the M3/M4 other than a redesign.

The one thing I can't get over on the M2 is the transition from the hood to the front bumper. I've not seen a single picture where it looks smooth. It looks like instead of a straight line (180 degree) it's at 175 or 170 degrees. It bothers me to the point that I wouldn't buy the car, but admittedly, I have OCD.

The G42 has really grown on me and it’s killing this G87 in these photos

I understand how cars can change when seen in real life though as that’s exactly what happened to me with the G82

The aftermarket is clearly where u should be shopping for mods for the G87 & steer well clear of the garish Mperformance stuff imo.

Here is a side profile. You can look at the transition from the front bumper to the hood. The line flows correctly.

I believe when they designed the longer m2 front bumper, they kept the m240 bonnet untouched (which slope is align with the m240 shorter bumper). The m3/m4 had a newly designed bonnet to match its new bumper. On m2 its more of an afterthought. But in most light condition its not that visible.

JackB316 While we greatly appreciate this impression it unfortunately lacks one crucial piece of information... With that being said & all things considered, wouldn't a proper impression involve actual time behind the wheel & driving the G87 first before we report back with such clarity into how the two are vastly different rather than simply looking at them statically... ?

Ya... BUT, that's only because of the performance aspects of the platform. If what you're saying is true... why people are still staying "it will grow on you..." ?? The G80 front grill is something numerous companies have spent countless hours trying to minimize the awful aesthetics of (the disproportionate buck tooth grill). You can't outrun ugly. Even if you tried.

This is exactly what I am refering to. You can just tell the bumper is an afterthought and most of the cars are pushed too far up towards the hood and a big gap over the headlamps. I am super picky about panel fitment, admittedly, but my G82 is perfect in this respect. Here is another pic I saved of this nose that from the side is "unfavorable" to me. Some cars seem better than others, but I'm not sure if it is just an angle thing.

I look at this picture and agree with what you're saying but all I see is a mile high wheel gap...

We know the G87 has haters (and I am not talking about those making comments on the M Performance parts or other aftermarket parts, I am talking about the actual car), for whatever reason. We get it. You have made your point. Can we move along and stop polluting the threads or at the very least, you can start a separate thread for all the hate and bashing.

Its bmw m product, we expect nothing less than perfect. Does the vent-looking in the corner of the headlight functional? Ill be disappointed if its not 😅 they deleted the decade long side vents in pursuit of function over form. And now its on its front facia.
