IND's G87 M2 Road Trip to Road America

Anyone who has visited the iconic Road America knows that not only is it the premier racing circuit of the Midwest, but it's also one of the most scenic. It was with this mindset that IND's Marketing and Content Manager decided to take the relatively short 2 hour trip straight north to take in some of that motorsport-inspired splendor.

Those of you familiar with the track will also know that the surface had not been overhauled since 1995. Luckily, the milling and grinding of the entire almost-4.1 mile racetrack (plus the pit lane) actually began at the beginning of October last year. As is expected of a world-renowned racetrack, the resurface project was comprehensive: fine grading, a new base layer, and a new final asphalt surface layer was completed before the end of the month with a celebratory ribbon-cutting ceremony at the beginning of November 2022.

Unlike other parts of the country, we Midwesterners do unfortunately have a rather unpleasant racing off-season. But in the case of Road America, this gave the all-new race surface an entire off-season to cure before the start of the 2023 season so we had to get a look at the new surface for ourselves—and get some photos of our G87 M2!

This car looks gorgeous in every sense of the word. I love what IND-Distribution has done to this already sexy G87 M2 coupe. Seeing these photos has solidified that I want to get one as my next M car.

The car in its current form looks much more thoughtfully composed & cohesive with the front end paint work. Everything else is superb & flows in perfect unison now. Even the BBS wheels look like an option that should've been available on the car. Maybe a gunmetal gray finish too perhaps.

The only thing I would've changed is a set of semi-gloss black side view mirror caps. Other than that, this is perfect & such a delight to see. Job well done IND...

Not at all, even BMW themselves list their M Performance kit to be the same for the G80, G82 and G87.

Smart people knew the M2 was the shit along time ago, the remaining people are accepting it or still in denial.

G8X M3/M4 demand is reducing as a result, you can see it in used car market.

How did no one at BMW recommend that the front bumper’s middle lip area be paint matched? It looks so much better this way, it completely transforms the car!

Can’t wait to see what the C, CS, CSL trims end up looking like. If they shave off 200+ pounds I might have to consider switching from my F87C. Only if available in manual as well of course
