It's been sitting in my garage in delivery/transport wrapping with 8 miles on it.

Got it in November.

So yes they do exist.

But Porsches do to.

Exactly. Same with the GR Corolla and CivicSI.

I thought the (new) M2 and Supra had the same manual tranny? Was surprised to hear differently but I'm not on top of this stuff.

He has hated BMW ever since his ownership of the e92 m3. A car I love and owned for 11yrs. I wouldn't take it personal even though he does...
I love the e92 m3

I only watched this to get a comparison on the infotainment systems, and clearly the 2023 M2 wins in that category.

Also just wanna say, Stratosphere Blue/Portimao absolutely destroys ZB.

It was my top choice for my Supra and I wasn't able to get it.

Big sad lol.

I’d be crazy to drop my spot on the waiting list and grab a used F87 right? The G87 seems miles better in every category.

For me, because it's mostly a street car, it's either a 981 GT4 or 997 Turbo (two totally different machines I know) or a C7 GS or Z06.

I like the simplicity of the Vette but the Porsches will never lose value so it's a massive toss up right now.

I'm keeping the rest of my fleet so this is a 1 vs. 1 deal haha

If I was consolidating, 997.2 GT3 all day.
I'd pick one up as a track car if that's something you wanted this car to be. Having seen them out there last season, with the right driver and setup they are the real deal holyfield.

You wouldn't be crazy - they all have their place, depends what you want the car to be.

If you think the "controversial" exterior, single piston rear brakes, torque converter auto, digitized HVAC controls, weight, cast wheels, weird, pointy gauges, and slapped on LG ultra-wide monitor are "miles better in every way" than the F87, the G87 sounds perfect for you. Look no further.

I think the G87 is generally the better buy, but it has its shortcomings. F87 is still plenty relevant.

LMAO, why didn't they put an F87 M2C, not the OG N55-based one. Come one now

Did you even watch the video? They specifically said they had the OG M2 vs the G87 since neither of them are Competition models. I would like still liked to see the M2C included as well but understand that it's hard enough to get all these cars together for an in depth test so I'll take what we can get.

Uh - I'm pretty sure SG said the rear brakes are 4 pistons in G87.

He was wrong. It's one floating piston caliper.

G87 used the same single piston, floating caliper as the G80. This is because of the electronic parking brake (cost cutting).

Some folks are sugarcoating the cliffs notes. Here’s what I heard.

Mark: the G87 looks like a waterlogged scion and also looks hideous, feels nothing, fake brake pedal, numb steering. Hate it.

Britt Casey: the G87 is heavy (huge difference of +400-500 lbs) but a novice can handle it: brake sooner, understeer to the apex, turbo-boosted oversteer at exit. At the limit prefer feel of [f87] and overall prefer it vs G87 even though it is slower.

Ditto. The Supra looks good until you see the concept car. Then you realize how strange the z4-based car looks.

Hard to be believe that one of the reviewers thinks that the Supra is a good looking car. That thing is hideous.

Unless you don't want to buy a 5-year old car, of course.

The problem with ranking old cars vs. new cars is: how much do the miles devalue the car to you? Can you even FIND the old car in the spec you like? Are you are OK with the decreased reliability and increased maintenance cost?

I'm OK with a year or two of difference, but after 5 years all the warranties are gone and a lot of parts are approaching end-of-life, so I don't think it's apples-to-apples anymore. Because now we need to be talking about used Porsches, etc.

Other than that, I do think it's a very good review and more or less agree with the conclusions.

Since I want a new car, have to haul stuff, and it's my daily driver, the review affirms I made the right choice for me.

Looks are subjective of course, but I find the Supra much better looking than the G87 (and I am getting a G87.) Now I haven't seen the G87 in person yet but I was surprised by how much better I liked the Supra after seeing it in person so my opinion could change when I do finally see a G87 in the flesh.
