Uses ones range all over the spectrum in price depending on miles and rag top vs coupe. Regardless of anything else, VANOS and Rod Bearings are considered essential preventative maintenance for the S54 so factor that into the decision.

Funny thing is I don't even care for the side badges on the F87, would be cleaner without them IMHO...

Good question, I'm not sure, I haven't played with coding it off and such yet.

Haven't driven an M2 but on the G80 M3 with the windows down it is somewhat apparent the engine noise is coming from inside the cabin. Most noticeable if the radio is off. It can probably be turned off in ISTA, a fun tidbit on the F chassis you could change the pumped-in engine noise to any current BMW model, S63 noises on an M240 made for a good laugh.

Did you complete the break in service yet? If so did you notice a difference after?

Scheduled for Friday. The only difference I expect is that I'll ride closer to red line vice holding back at 6K. In the video above, you can hear me modulating and shifting with the goal of respecting the break in procedure as much as possible while still having fun. The car still has more to give above 6K, so that's the only difference I expect.

That's what I thought. I am more on the side of the break in is just fluid changes but with this car it seemed to wake it up more than other m cars I have had. Yes it does have more to give. Did you win the tire lottery and get michelins?

I am driving both and they are comparable. I think the main benefit of the Michelins is treadwear, they should last longer. I have a good track record with PZeros. They were better on track for me too, when I had an E90. No change in lap time, but the Michelins chunked out losing rubber in pieces as if it had been chiseled. Took me some effort to get money back from Michelin (Runflat PZeros vs Michelin PSS). The whole tire lottery is a bit overhyped. |
