Racechip GTS Black installed (M2)

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
As the title says installed the RC box a few days ago. Very impressed so far. Solid power increase across the revs. Same OEM smoothness but just significantly more power. I'm impressed so far! Install was a PIA! All due to the boost sensor located underneath the aux water pump. Took a while but finally got the connector off. The rest of the install was pretty straightforward. Also installed the Kies MS carbon strut brace while I had the OEM brace off.

One issue I had was while removing the connector to the water pump in order to relocate it to create space to get to the boost sensor I accidently lost the the little white plastic locking clip on the water pump connector. The connector still goes back on and locks securely but I'd feel better if I could replace the white plastic clip as well. Anyone have any idea where I could order a replacement? I assume I'll have to order the whole connector and just take the clip off the replacement. Thanks!

Thanks for the review. I’ve been contemplating getting the race chip myself. Is your car auto or manual?

This is where I was at, the discount code from rgsportshop.com made it just worth it enough to give it a shot. If dont like it I can re-sell at a small loss. I am out the door at like 592 with the app addon shipped.

Absolutely...the car feels awesome. It felt great before but now it's on another level. The only thing that might make me second guess the purchase is the install. Pain in the ass but if you have patience you should be ok.

Glad to hear. Especially since I ordered one today.

Did have any luck finding that locking clip?

Do you have concerns with the power and the stock clutch? I have been reading a ton and everyone says the auto can handle a ton of power but the MT is limited. Have you noticed anything at this power level? Given that racechip warrants it, I wouldn't think they would do anything that eats manuals. But curious to your pov

Yea, but I'm not someone who pounds on the car anyway just like to have the extra power in reserve and also like the increased responsiveness. Overall, great value IMO. Annoying that all the G8X cars have the same HW but the M2 gets the least amount of power. This fixes that with low risk.

Not yet. I guess I could go to the dealer and ask but I'm not sure what to ask for . I'd have to show them and then I'd have to explain why I was messing with that connector.

I’ve been told the MT can handle the Racechip just fine but I’m still a little hesitant. Only thing stopping me from getting one.
