OEM Glossy Carbon Fiber Interior Trim
Could I have gotten cheaper carbon fiber overlays for significantly cheaper? Of course, but I would be able to tell they're overlays. The P/N's are listed below. It was around $720 total from getBMWparts.com. The cupholder trim is quite easy to remove. Just hold onto the bottom mounting cover and slide the top cover downwards. It just slides and clips into place The center console surround is easy up until you get to the 2 clips at the front near the cupholders. You have to stick a flat headscrew driver to release 2 tabs, then the whole surround comes up. Install took about 30 mins. Prior to the install, I applied Xpel PPF to these pieces from the DIY kit:

I have real carbon overlays and you can't tell the difference... at a third of the cost...

Excellent! I assume these are OEM M3/M4 part numbers? I wondered if they fit. I like the satin finish in the M Performance kit, but as you probably know, that also includes the dash trim that would defeat the 2023 ambient lighting. I also think I prefer the gloss carbon for this application.
Now I need to find out if the gloss carbon parts from the M3/M4 steering wheel are compatible with ours. I too, cannot do overlays. |

Part Number 32-30-9-882-894 Part Number 32-30-9-882-892 Quick search I come up with these part numbers. I havent confirmed for sure yet, but I think this is it. There should be 2 possible part numbers for each piece I think. The upper should be with or without driving assistance, since DA has those thin LED cutouts just above the buttons. The lower should be with or without heated steering wheel button. I think. |

I’m going to pass on the carbon fiber steering wheel surround. It’s a bit too much carbon fiber. I did get the OEM competition carbon fiber shift paddles though as well as the carbon fiber M Performance door sills.

Are the M Performance door sills a satin or gloss finish? I know their steering wheel parts, and their dash/console parts are satin.

The M Performance sills are gloss carbon fiber. The carbon fiber steering wheel surrounds come in both glossy (M3/M4 part numbers) and matte (M performance)

I went ahead and ordered these 2 console pieces today. I also ordered the lower piece for the steering wheel too. I just couldn't bring myself to cough up enough money to add the expensive upper half of the steering wheel today. Once the lower half is installed, it should drive me crazy enough to order the upper half before long

They did just come out with a superseding part number on that kit and dropped the price a couple hundred, which is nice. Seems to go for around $1250 ish now when the previous part number kit was just over $1400 everywhere, last I looked. |

If you go into their M Performance catalog and then sort by series it will show you all the M parts. This is a popular one for OEM BMW parts. But you can take the part number and put it into google and find all sorts of competing prices. |

For the sake of not breaking anything to find out, I just wanted to double check with you; to begin removal of the console, I should start in the very back by the armrest, correct? Pull it straight up to pop out back there, and then use a tool as you described for the tabs at the forward end?

That is correct. Pop off the small black plastic trim in the armrest and start prying from that gap with a nylon pry tool, then work your way around the left and right sides (I used my hands). Look at the where the 2 front tabs are on your new piece and slide a thin flat head screwdriver to release the front 2 tabs.
