You _should_ be able to distinguish between M1/M2, so long as your Settings reflect the car's setup. Let me know, maybe yours is a special use case we haven't considered.
My setup is basically:

Regular:
Engine: Efficient
Chassis: Comfort
Steering: Comfort
Brake: Comfort
DSC On

M1:
Engine: Sport Plus
Chassis: Sport
Steering: Sport
Brake: Comfort
DSC On

M2:
Engine: Efficient
Chassis: Sport Plus
Steering: Sport
Brake: Comfort
DSC Off, M Traction: 6

I assume that because my engine is on efficient, it was executing the M1 path when I turned on M2, and the M1 path when I turned on M1?

Engine: efficient is relatively popular for track use, since the car is super torquey and this makes the throttle much easier to modulate. I don't mind the workaround for now, but would be awesome if there's a way to maybe incorporate DSC settings or something in the decision making. Love the cando on the track, much nicer to jump in and press M2 and have the track mode up, instead of fiddling with menus.

Big shoutout to BSP Motorsports for helping get this all together and setting the car up.

They also found some nice ways to mount the reservoirs:

Also added some more front camber, resulting alignment numbers:

Initial impressions from driving home on bumpy country roads is that these dampers are insane in handling high speed bumps. The shop left them with all settings midway, and it's kind of crazy how well it rides on the street.

I have a lot of work to do to figure these dampers out. But just on the street, the car feels a lot sharper with the higher spring rates. Hoping this will translate to more stability in transitions!

Coding faults out

I got my seat and EDC errors coded out today by kubax86 .

I wasn't sure about what to expect, but this was a super easy and awesome process, 100% would recommend.

All I did was purchase the EDC code out and Race Seats coding from https://bimmer-remote.com/, and ordered an ENET OBD2 cable from amazon .

We coordinated on a time, and then I just needed to plug in the cable to a windows laptop with teamviewer on, and chilled back for a few mins.

After the first pass, the EDC and seat errors went away, but when I put it into reverse, I get the parking assist fault.

It was the same situation as https://g80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=2162969, where the auto parking feature requires the seatbelt.

I sent the error to kubax86 and after another min or two, they were able to code this out.

Car is now fault-free! Very satisfied with the experience.

I like that rear reservoir mounting!. What psi did you charge the reservoirs to?

I don't think they touched the reservoir pressure at all, so they would be at whatever the previous owner had them at, I think. (assuming that fronts don't require de-pressurizing to remove the QDs?). I assume they are at MCS recommended pressures, but not sure.

Car felt pretty good on track on saturday, didn't feel like I needed more spring rate anywhere so I'm just going to go schrodinger's pressure for these for now and will tweak once I figure out what I'm missing

If you can connect and disconnect the QD's then you likely have zero pressure in there. I will be at Cresson this Saturday and I can bring my nitrogen bottle if you want to charge them up.

ECR Shakedown

I took the car out to ECR over the weekend, unknowingly on an instructional day so it was super busy, as the member sessions had all of the instructors in it, as well as racecars (SPB, GR Cup, Formula Mazda) prepping for races, and some members who brought guests.

Got only a handful of clean laps in 2:08s.

I was pretty distracted the whole day and forgot capture any video. Even autopiloted out of the house in crocs.

The car feels way more planted and grippier, and the most noticeable change is how the weight reacts to inputs (previously, any bit of brakes sent the car into oversteer mode, any steering shifts throws the weight left or right and easily induces oversteer), and now it reacts a lot slower.

As a result, I think I'm very under the limit and experiencing a lot of understeer from not getting enough weight transfer done. Tires are on day 7 and feeling less grippy, but even then I was driving under the limit on these most of the day, so lot of driver mod needed to adjust to the new setup. I think dampening is generally in a good spot, and I can get the car to do what I want to do through better inputs, so going to get consistent with that before starting to change things up.

Oh dang I completely didn't realize apex was doing an event at MSR this weekend. Been meaning to run MSRC in this car. Oh well.

I'll follow up with BSP, I assume they've been through enough of these MCS remote systems at this point lol

Hi, sorry it took a while to get back. I'm not getting the notifications for some reason!

With your current setup, you are able to distinguish between M1 and M2. Under settings, choose Chassis Sport for M1, that should do the trick.
