Silicon Valley PPF - recommendations?
Hi All,
I'm new to the South Bay area and I will get my M2 in a few weeks. Because I hope to drive this car daily, and live in an apartment complex where I won't have access to easy DIY washing, I am thinking of getting a full PPF wrap. Does anyone have any recommendations or good experiences with PPF shops in the area? Before I moved, I used to wrap and ceramic coat my cars myself, but I don't have the time or the space to do it here. I've done some searching and found a few mentions, but figured I could get the latest answers all in one spot! THANKS!! |

Dynamic Detailing down by SJC are great- they are near to the Costco and TikTok HQ. I've used them for PPF and to get tints on my G87 recently. They have also done work for friends and family who have always been impressed.
Their set up is really great. Ask for Daniel (co-owner) and tell him the guy who had the G87 damaged by Stevens Creek (long story) recommended you! |

If you want it done right by a shop that consistently delivers & was recognized + written up in a local add by Porsche, I would check out Double Take Auto Spa in Fremont. Tell Sandra Kevin with all the X3 M's sent you.

TheSiege Who did you end up going with and how much did they charge?
My car should be coming in this weekend. I just made an appointment with Supreme Auto Films for next week - Was quoted $2.5k for full front PPF (Suntek) and all 4 windows tint (3M) |

Thanks to all for the recommendations!!
My car wont come for another week, so I have yet to choose. I have called all of the above shops, and a number of others found via reviews and Google. $1700-$2600 seems to be the range for a front (the lower end being done with a pre-cut kit). Full car ranges from $4500 (using some pre-cut parts), all the way to $8k! I see myself going with full wrap a well-reviewed shop in the $5-6k range - I will let you know who I pick once I make some visits. Having done this a few times already (and installed my own full wraps in the past too), I can't imagine the "higher end" ones being so much "better" as to justify the price. My next debate is if I should try a protective windshield wrap. I've read a number of posts/forums (especially Bronco/Jeep ones) for reviews.... some say it's worth it and good quality, others make me think the product is not quite ready for primetime. For $500 (the cost of a new windshield via insurance?), it might be worth a shot? More to come... |
