If you leave your factory midpipe and opf intact you can just cut and bolt this one without any issues.

There are no power losses from adding a catless downpipe without a tune but, you won't see a significant gain either until it's tuned.

Shout out to Anthony from MAD-US for the help on this Axleback. Completely changes up the sound the car and looks absolutely phenomenal. As it sits, the car currently has the MAD Catless Downpipes, the MAD Front Mount Intakes, the MAD Axleback and not shown in the video is the sound difference that the SST Valve Controller made. I'll be looking to post a video sometime in the next week or so to showcase the difference in sound. It sounded great with just the axleback, sounds even MEANER with the valves being able to open fully. The tone is nice and deep with plenty of crackles and pops without any added raspiness. It makes the intake whooshes sound even louder which is always a great. With valves closed, the sound is extremely similar to stock which provides comfort when cruising. Single midpipe coming soon but still debating between resonated and non-resonated. Quality and fitment is absolutely flawless, you can't go wrong with anything from the team over at MAD!

Pro Tip: Disable the Active Sound Design module via Bimmercode to ensure you don't get any crappy fake noise inside the cabin.

The G87 M2 excels in nearly every aspect compared to its precursor, but the prevailing concern among enthusiasts lies in its sound quality. Similar to its predecessor, the S55 in the f87, the S58 in the current generation still leaves room for improvement. While the stock sounds are a step up from the previous generation, they still have an excess of raspiness that fails to convey the refined aggression inherent to the brand's signature performance models. MAD remedies this shortcoming with a valved axle back exhaust system that delivers a deeper, more impactful note, and adds a level of amplification beyond the stock version. When paired with the optional single midpipe, it yields an even louder, smoother, and fuller sound.

To achieve the desired sound volume and tone befitting the G87 M2, we increased the tubing size to 76mm (from the stock's 70mm), which reduces back pressure and allows a freer flow throughout the system. The larger piping diverges into multiple paths as it approaches the vehicle's rear, the choice of which is determined by the factory exhaust valves that are retained.

When the valves are open during high-load conditions, most gases bypass the muffler entirely for a near-straight pipe design, achieving maximum aural enjoyment. That's funny I used our G80 m4 Description to make this, which we made a long time ago. I guess Dinan is using chat gpt to write their descriptions or they copied ours

Edit this was a screw up on our end. this descritpion should of never been used.

Alright, rolled the dice. Resonated midpipe and axleback ordered through mike@x-ph.com. I think ETA is July so a bit of a wait, but sale pricing made it worth it (on top of already lower starting price point).

I’m always a “you get what you pay for” person, but I just can’t understand the price points for some of the other options. The MAD pricing is $1500 for the axleback with carbon tips and $1100 for a resonated midpipe, putting a total catback cost of around $2600. With some axlebacks alone starting north of $3k (so $4-5k with a midpipe), I just don’t see the value. These are noisemakers, adding next to 0% performance increase. Unless this thing rusts after a year and fits like crap, I think it’ll be a winner.

Ordered mine too, but I did the Dinan midpipe. Same thinking... it's a midpipe. Plus it's Dinan so I know it's quality. Finish is top notch.

MAD said as long as Dinan uses the same cut points as MAD, the 2 will work together since all 4 parts (both midpipes & exhausts) work with OEM midpipes or the exhaust. Since I am installing all of this together, I can even double check cutpoints before doing the cuts. Measure twice, cut once & all...

Per dinans instructions they use the Middle cut point like our midpipe.
