Remove tennis clay from carpet
My family plays tennis. On clay courts. I don’t. They track grey clay dust into the cars. It “stains” the carpet and any fabric their shoes touch. I’ve tried to vacuum it and wipe it off. I can’t get it out.
Help please.

Folex is a spray upholstery cleaner that works well.
For stubborn stains I make a paste of water & OxiClean, agitate, let it dry a bit & vacuum. Or you could try an aerosol carpet cleaner - spray, agitate, blot dry depending on the product's directions.

Tell your family to change their shoes before they get in the car. Other than that, any upholstery cleaner or APC should take care of it.

Every clay court place I’ve ever played on has a place to wash the bottom of the shoes off when you’re done. Either the basic small tray of water you dunk your feet into or the nicer roller/sprayers for the same purpose. Maybe your family people don’t give a care enough to do that and not track clay in and make a mess. All that said, Weathertech mats are nice to have for people that play tennis a lot and also just swap shoes like the other person said.

I have not used the carpet type mats on any car that I have owned since my 1991 when I purchased a 325i. They always get dirty and they are a PIA to clean. In addition, if someone is wearing high heels they can become damaged from the tips of the heels . |

Honestly, I just use a dilute solution of all purpose cleaner. Something like simple green. But the large carpet extractor concentrate solution that you would use in a machine works too. I remove the mats and work it into the carpet with a brush or with bare hands. Then I take a high pressure hose and flush it out. At that point you let it air dry or you can use a shop vac to pull out the water.

Second the OEM BMW all weather mats - that's the first thing I bought when I picked up the car.

I have instituted a rule that shoes must be washed or changed before entering my vehicles after playing on clay courts. If anyone forgets and new clay appears, tennis membership gets cancelled.
