Brake caliper color on TR

What are we thinking? Blue or red brake calipers on TR.

Blue. The red is a different shade, also non-metallic and it somewhat clashes with Toronto Red Metallic.

Blue calipers in the photos below.

Red caliper photo.

Pure preference. I prefer the calipers to not stand out and if there was an option for black calipers that is what I would select.

Yeah, that kinda clashes.

I am having the same issue with the merlot Vossens I am going with on BG. Even with Vossen's red center cap, the red calipers look horrible with the wine colored rims. Blue is only a tad better. Thinking of color matching the calipers to BG.

Another win for the G80/G82.

Edit, FYI Porsche charges $900 for black calipers. No charge at BMW.

Good idea color matching calipers.

I don't really mind the slight mismatch with TR and the red caliper because red calipers are just synonymous with high performance braking these days and gives it the "Brembo vibe". Also either wheel selection does not draw huge amounts of attention away from the car.

You know every Tom, Dick, and Harry wants to rattle can paint their calipers red and specifically because of what you stated above. Posers!

Red calipers have become passé and a large reason why the black caliper option has become popular over at Porsche for $900.

Edit, keep in mind the brakes on the G87 are nothing astounding. The rears suck! We have already been down that rabbit hole though.

Forgive me for apparently missing that hole. How do you know? Because of the G80’s?

The pad is small (because the caliper is small). It gets hot fast and wears fast under sprightly conditions. If you heat cycle well and pay attention by turning off the auto assist functions (so the rears don't grab to help traction in corners) then they can last.

But in general, one caliper is exceptionally dumb for such a heavy car (necessitated by the eParking brake).

Ahh, got you, much obliged. Really miss the days of a real parking brake, that was nice in the OG.

Yeah, wish there would have been an option to upgrade brakes. When ordering a big brake kitnfrom Brembo, they do have other color options beyond their standard red (which Wilwood also uses).

Not only that, they are floating caliper rather than fixed like the front. Floating are much cheaper - another cost saving by BMW.

Blue, especially if you’re going with the M highlight seats or buckets since it carries the theme

For the same reason I'm changing from blue to red calipers with ZB. I thought the blue would be okay but a pop of red might be better than a different shade of blue.
