guitarists! song suggestions please

i think this is the right place to post this so:

ive been playing the guitar for at least 5 years now, and have stopped for the past few months due to tooo much work..
my request is if any of you with good/average/expert experience to suggest some technical songs to play or practice, that would also sound good to an audience! (im not going to be playing to one, but just something to get me into a new style of music to play is what i'm asking for)

some songs i can play to help see what im going for: hotel calif (acoustic version including the solo), some metal songs by in flames/lamb of god etc., and alot of incubus songs...

thanks for input!

I was gonna say incubus ha. Ive been playing for 15 years and incubus songs are great for tuning up your skills Try Mexico songs like Mexico and Just a Phase. Also, play some Sysem of a Down - Kill Rock N Roll, Dreaming, Bounce.

oh i am not joking when i say i have learned to play 90% of incubus songs... they are very diverse! and i will try system of a down songs actually, but i hate the tuning they use... it's like 1.5 steps down or something of the sort...

have you taken lessons btw? do u recommend after 5 years to take some too (self taught btw)

and i will try the slipknot song! im going to listen to it now and thanks bro

I actually took lessons for about the first 3 years I played. They helped alot man. I mean I could learn to play a song and get better, but what really made me a strong guitarist was learning the theory and such. And having a professional help me with subtle things such as finger positions. Good luck with it all dude

I play a lot of Chili Peppers song, Under the bridge, californication, Can't Stop, but "Snow" Hey Oh, is very difficult, i gave up on that song...the riff is just too hard to get the timing right

Sublime - Santeria, is an easy song to play, the solo is easy too

Smashing Pumpkins - Today

Sweet home alabama

Here without you, just to name a few songs that everyone would recognize, they are fairly easy to play

Anything Alice In Chains.

Sublime - whatever songs you like

Tool/A Perfect Circle - sober, stinkfist, Judith, Orestes (great song)

I went there, too many tabs, most of them are inaccurate too..bad ratings

You should download GuitarPro and then the tabs for it, 40,000 tabs...

Or you can go to www.songsterr.com, they update it pretty often and the tabs are nice, and it plays for you too so you can get the beat and rhythm down

A coupe of fun solos I like to play are Taking Back Sunday - Error Operator, and Spin.

Both songs have good warm up solos, I know I know, it's Taking Back Sunday, but whatever
