Performance Delivery Center 230i M-Sport
I highly recommend taking delivery at the Performance Delivery Center. I took my teenage son who is a new driver as my guest and we had an amazing time. The hotel picked us up in an X5 and took us to lunch and the mall, the drivers were very accommodating. There is a lot to do in the area, restaurants, Top Golf, Go-Carts, etc. Dinner includes a prix fixe menu, salmon bisque (or salad), he had filet mignon and I had the unicorn fish, chocolate cake and chocolate mousse cake, and 2 alcohol drink tickets. There was a breakfast buffet, but we skipped it.
They picked us up at 7:45 AM. There was a brief safety and admin brief then we hit the track. We were given comparable vehicles to those we were picking up. In our case we drove a M240i. First was a breaking exercise, 3 runs each, 40/50/60 MPH then hard brake. Then a course with twists, turns, and straight ways. Next, a traction control exercise on a wet pad. The DTC was turned off so you spin out, then turned on where you drift. Lastly, riding with a pro where he did all of the tricks on the entire track. Next we jumped in an X5 of our choice and drove to the factory for a tour. They showed us where the museum was located for a self tour after delivery of our car. After the tour we did an off road course in the X5, hills, dips, bridge, water crossing, etc. I also own a Jeep Wrangler Unlimited and was surprised by the X5's off road capability. Next we had lunch which was cafeteria style, hot line, short order, and salad bar. After lunch we had 2 1/2 hours with a BMW genius for delivery with a full overview of my car and options. The whole operation is top notch and will give you a new appreciation of BMW's and the professionals that work there! Last edited by Bulldog 6; 04-04-2022 at 10:40 PM.. Reason: Rotate Pic |

This is definitely on my list of things to do now that European delivery is gone and Mexican delivery isn't a thing (nor would I want to do it. )
The G42 looks great in Portimao Blue with the Shadowline package!

You will have a blast, I didn't post the pics and videos. I really is something you have to experience. Thank you, I love everything about the exterior/interior. Driving home 5 1/2 hours was fun too.

Congrats!!
I picked up my thundernight M240 on Mar 3rd from the Performance center also and it was indeed an awesome experience. Did they put you in a F22 or G42 for all of the driving activites? I had to drive a F22 as they didnt have any G42 in their fleet when I was there.

You can add it now. Just call your BMW dealership to set it up. I will pick mine up this Monday April 11 at the Performance Center.

I think you can still do the PCD as long as it has not reached the port for processing. I would call your dealer immediately, you won't regret it.

For Anyone Taking Delivery at the BMW Performance Center...
While in the area, definitely worth a visit to the BMW CCA Foundation Museum just down the road from the Performance Center in Greer, SC. A nominal entry fee gets you to see the current exhibit and there's an abundance of BMW items for purchase in their store...if you didn't buy enough at the BMW Zentrum or Performance Center shops!

This looks incredible but I don't think there's anything like it in Europe.
When I got my car handed over the saleswoman didn't give a monkeys, sign this, pay that, I'll get the car brought round to the front, call me if you have any questions, bye. She didn't even acknowledge my dad who had come with me to the collection. The only thing she cared about was me giving her 10/10 and 5 stars. |
