2025 Porsche 911T (992.2)

It has been revealed that Porsche released details for the 2025 911T, and this car will be a 6 speed (not 7 as previously) manual transmission. Interestingly, this model will not be available as a PDK.

All in all, it appears that Porsche has listened to their community and produced what may be the perfect 911 within the 992.2 series of cars.

For the first time in a while I am seriously contemplating purchasing this car.

Cheers

If the cost wasn't insane and I didn't have to deal with a Porsche dealer, this is the one car I would consider over an M2. Absolutely incredible vehicle.

Only thing I'd like better is if it had a NA engine, like a detuned GT3.

Just had a look on the Australian Porsche configurator and a fairly basic car with carbon interior and steering wheel is retailing for $335k drive away....agreed very expensive compared to our G87's, but a 6 speed non GT car would most likely be the last of this 911 genre.

Congrats. It's only 2.2x times more expensive than the G87.

- No, not at 399 hp and 331 lb-ft tq. It wont throw you in your seat like a G87 will. If you're into cornering, then sure, but I prefer my fun cars to have both power and cornering.

- No, it's underpowered compared to the G87, though it will most likely outgrip it if properly driven by an experienced driver. If you put semi slicks on the G87, probably a toss up.

Also, don't forget the price $136K after delivery for the coupe and $149K after delivery for the cab are the starting price prior to any options nor dealer markups.

Good luck.

I think we are forgetting to price in the Macan we'll need to buy first to get an allocation for one of these.

Has Porsche always been like this, or is this mostly a recent phenomenon?

Truly disappointing.

134k starting for a car that will 100% get torn apart by an M3/4cx and probably is close enough in capabilities to be a driver's race vs a G87... i appreciate the thought, porsche, especially with the awesome T colorway, but thats a hard pass from me.

I want one bad but god damn it’s 2x the price I just paid for a brand new 2025 M2. I just can’t afford to toss down another $70k+

Porsche's pricing has gotten way out of hand. The 911T is very attractive, but as others have mentioned, it will easily be $150k out the door once you spec a handful of options.

A GT3 now starts at $225k. In 2018 a new GT3 started at $143k.

I'll be curious if they can continue to keep the prices so high, or if the Porsche bubble will finally burst.

But you won't be able to order guards red deviated stitching? How will you be able to call yourself a car enthusiast?

Porsche actually innovates and listens to their enthusiasts unlike BMW. My 992.1 T rips at 3200lbs even though the power is down. It doesn’t need anymore power, IMO. Prices are getting out of control, but the 911 package is pure perfection.

what? porsche is transitioning its most popular real enthusiast models to BEV. how is that listening to enthusiasts? the whole point is to push you into a 911 which have INSANE margins. they dont want to sell you a 718. they cost almost the same to make, and sell for way less.

we've had this discussion before, but considering how many great cars have come from the marquee, this is disappointing behavior. it feels like aliens are wearing the porsche brand as a skin suit at this point.

BMW has a huge amount of pure ICE enthusiast options, including some MTs. they have more MT options than Porsche at the moment.

bubble will burst, like it always does. porsche will slowly transform into an (even more) geriatric brand, the trendsetters will pick a new platform, and prices will come back to earth. they are already starting, a nice 996 C4S is now back in the 30s/40s (vs 50s/60s)

Very interesting car indeed but it doesn’t worth 2 M2. It may have higher resale value but it will also have higher running cost.

Fair points. I honestly don’t have any interest in a 718 aside from a GT4, which Porsche wouldn’t let me buy. The GTS innovation is incredible compared to what BMW is doing along with BMW slowly killing the manual. Porsche on the other hand is releasing new manual offers that people thought would never happen - 992.2 Turbo manual!
How many manual options does BMW offer? The G80/82 and the G87 and that’s it, right? Porsche already has two varients with manual offerings - GT3 and now T. A manual Turbo will be released in the near future bring that total up to 3.

didn't hear that the 992 turbo would get a manual- thats actually refreshing to hear. i was a bit worried they would transition the turbo fully to a luxury variant (vs a sporting variant) and only offer PDK.

still, pricing has gotten ridiculous, options are ridiculous, performance is behind much cheaper cars. i remember recently talking to a group of young guys at a car show in a wealthy suburb (probably 18-20), and when we talked about porsche, they hand waved it away as what their dad drove after the divorce to his golf club and unattainable status symbols. they wanted to see the hellcats, GT500s, the tuned up CTRs, etc. they wanted to see what the people on instagram are doing donuts with in empty parking lots and people are roll racing on freeways. theres VERY few porsches doing this anywhere now outside of professional influencers and as such have very little street cred with the kids who will be dictating resale prices in 20 years. the want to buy what the HITTERS are driving, now.

you may say, great, the kids and the riffraff dont want my P-cars. all the better! but ultimately, those are the people who will decide if your diaper dried 911 is worth 50k or 150k in short order. all this to say- i think the insane gatekeeping (pricing and otherwise) of 911s will ultimately hurt the brand long run and have a massive negative impact on pricing long term.
