New car pricing

Just curious. With the car market being so crazy right now why are bmw dealers letting go cars at msrp? I'm a little worried that they'd mark up my car once it actually arrives. Thanks!

When you place the order you should definitely get an idea of what the markup would be. I see you're in LA.

- Pacific BMW told me they'd mark up orders $2,000-$5,000 when I asked in December.
- Beverly Hills BMW has no mark up and has a couple of 230i 's coming in

I just purchased an M240i at BMW Encinitas at MSRP yesterday...but I had to negotiate for it. They were originally trying to charge 5k markup. Really happy with the result there.

Homie, same story. I asked around and a lot of then mark the 240 up. Got Long Beach agreed to sell at MSRP on email then I put in my order. Hopefully they won't go back on that lol.

I also had the same issue in orange county. They wanted 5-10k mark up. so i just called down in san Diego and they had a car that i pretty much had built but they had already ordered and agreed at MSRP at 1.9%.

If it arrives and they want more for it I would just walk and go to another dealer.

Lol looks like there gonna be a lot 240 in socal. One thing that's been bothering me is the AWD. In socal you don't really need it... What's your take on that?

I got 2.5% off, the BDC manager stated it when he returned my call from my web inquiery. I didn't even need to fight for it then, but we also have 4 BMW dealers equally distanced, it was a smart move. I could place my order with any of them, this gave me a reason to choose them. Now when I met with the sales agenet, he look shocked when I told him what the BDC stated. He went and verified, got the 2.5%

I ordered early and paid msrp. No negotiation or funny business when the car came. I’m in Dallas. I refuse to pay over msrp for any car, ever.

They are smart enough to understand this shortage won't last forever. When supply eventually catches up they don't want to be the ones to have taken advantage of their loyal customers. It's just good business practice. BMW owners tend to be customers for life. I would never return to a shady dealership who tried to take advantage of the market and hose their customers.

I went to quite a few dealerships in northern jersey and nyc area — almost all ask for msrp. Some markup the finance apr, and some have weird fees. Luckily the dealership I eventually purchased from asked only for msrp and 175 fee.

What is a BDC manager? I'm located near the canal and have been trying to decide whether to order. I'll probably pay cash and I'm also eligible for the military discount. Would you feel okay telling me which dealer you used? Also, what did they give you for a possible delivery date? Most guys seem to be looking at April or thereabouts. Thanks

I submitted my build through the BMW site to the sudbury dealer, Phil - BDC, contacted me.

A BDC manager oversees the business development center (BDC) at an automotive dealership. The BDC department is responsible for setting appointments with potential buyers to meet with the sales representatives at the dealership.

Sudbury BMW - Herb Chambers

Client Advisor - Ray Hovsepian (Good guy, so far I recommend him)

3 Month wait

Thank you very much for the info. I've made some inquiries today with two local dealers. South Shore and Cape Cod. I'll also contact Sudbury. They already have me on their contact list since I inquired about a M2 last year. Thanks again for the info!
