I got that from the dealer and many of my extended family on the Genius chat but sometimes I wonder what to believe..... It appears that we both went to 195 on the same day....

Anyone driven one today? I was offered a spin but turned it down, I want my first M2 drive experience to be in my car! So, in 2024, the way things seem to be going.

Yes, a few of us at 195 but still no sign of cars.

A mate of mine, not on here, has had his car delivered to the dealer - but it’s manual, and he ordered auto! He’s going to take it, then switch to the auto dealer demo when their replacement arrives in due course.

Nice one managerxxx

Was your mate subject to the air bag recall as I'm still curious to know if anyone has had their car fixed.

I’ve had a very quick ride - deffo what felt like a large step up from M240i x drive - felt loads more special and posied to deliver - I’m happy - also thought it looked like a beast, but it’s going to be a very long 11 week wait till I get my hands on my car. I’m also going to demo manual see what that’s like

I drove a BSM manual today in Stockport. It's amazing how good it looks in person. I took some pics but they are nothing like how it actually looks .. so it was standard UK spec but with manual box. I drive a manual mini cooper s currently and had originally specced my m2 in manual but changed it due to a bad knee at the time. Honestly it was a frustrating car to drive due to the gear box and clutch action and also the gear change there is nothing happening at lower revs . I know you can drop a gear but you would always need a low gear for any driving and it would be frustrating to keep having to stir the box even round a basic town trip. I see what they mean when they say rubbery and also transmission drive. The car itself is very very nice. When revs are high it really pulls hard so no complaints there. I am glad I ordered the auto and will try to get a drive of one. I too was thinking should I drive it and spoil the surprise. But I wanted to know whether I should cancel my order if it was as bad as some have said. Tbh the test drive options were limited as I was in Stockport which is built up with a couple of short motorway sections. So I tried it in the quiet industrial area and found the TC to be very nannying but ok in M2 mode. I definitely think this car will be great to own and am very glad I went for the auto even though I enjoy the manual in my mini. The mini has gutsy response at pretty much any revs complete opposite to the M2. On a spirited drive the manual gear change and high revs would be great (apart from the poor shift feel) but as a regular use car very frustrating and probably very thirsty if driven in the torque zone. Anyway it was a beautiful car to my eyes loads better to me than M3 and M4 perfect for my requirements in a car proportions etc. It didn't feel that heavy even though I had driven there in my mini. I didn't get to dry spirited cornering so that needs to be tried on next drive to really verify my purchase.

Guy who’s just bought M240i x drive sent me this photo of a customers car - ZB with cognac think it looks good with the cognac - I much prefer the bi colour wheels had enough of black gloss I’ve had them for years now

He’s going to check. He also got the M Driver’s Pack (top speed delimited and driver training voucher) unasked for. Not sure how that happens these days, when it’s all computerised rather than handwritten

Errm he hasn't got my car has he?!? That sounds like my spec - is it Toronto Red with bicolour wheels by any chance. Hell if they can get the spec wrong you can also imagine them getting the deliveries mixed up!

But yes I agree it's pretty shocking how this can still happen in this day and age and sadly it's not an isolated issue as there's been a few similar occurrences mentioned on here.

Thanks for the reviews Lawsoc & RichyN. I’m with you on auto vs manual RichyN, and hoping it’ll be an updated reincarnation of my sorely-missed DCT E92 M3:

Just checked on the chat, my car’s still at 195 (exited from port in Mexico), but still due for delivery this coming week! We shall see…

I still don't get why you're 195 out of Veracruz (when I was 165) and I'm 195 from Bremerhaven to Southampton.

My sales guy was adamant the boat was going straight from Veracruz to Southampton, so I’m not convinced anyone knows anything!

Based on this shipping schedule, seems like ships can go to Southampton first, then Bremerhaven, or vice versa: https://www.klineglobalroro.com/sche...e_schedule.pdf

Looking at that again, I think Giggsy’s right. With the “HRZ” shipping code I’ve got from the screenshot from my dealer’s computer, and the change to 195 on 1/6, it’s got to be on the Horizon Highway, due in to Southampton 28/6, hasn’t it?

It could be a red herring but the Victoria Highway is coming in to Southampton on 23rd from Mexico. And this would def explain how we're both 195.
