M4 G82 (2021) or M2 G87?
Hey, could find anything around so I simply ask
Changed my Audi S4 for 24 X7 and now I feel like I miss the fast car... I'd love something just for summer and the M2 looks like it could be fun but while lurking online for some M2's I came across quite some nice 10k km's 2021 M4's, 2WD for only about 5k € higher price over M2 and found also few xDrives with Individual orange carbon seats interior for lets say 10-15k € more over M2. I really like the look of the M4 and I think I might also liked more the older interior with buttons but the car is so huge compared to M2. Anyone who own/ed both? I'm yet to test drive them both. |

Why would you pay more for a 2021 M4 over a 2024 M2?

I’m aware the 4 series also has more features available. Try to create a weighted list of reasons why, and go for the one that compels you the most. You asked the question here, and I suspect 99% of us will say the M2 looks better, so your responses will be severely skewed. On the flip side, if you pay more for a car it’s likely (but not guaranteed) that you’ll end up selling it for more too, so it doesn’t matter at the end of the day. Especially if you buy used, and most of the depreciation has already been accounted for. It seems like you really want an M4 These are similar cars, if you’re comfortable paying more for the M4 and like the looks better, go get it. |

I was strongly considering a slightly used M3 or M4, and wasn't considering the M2 at all. But then I looked at the price of a new M2 compared to a '21 or '22 M3/4, and the performance. I couldn't justify $10-15k more for the used 3 or 4, so I bought the M2. Personally, now that I own it, I think the 2 looks better than the 4.

Truth is that i cannot unsee they just took M3, got rid of rear doors and made front doors longer on M4.
I'm not really into shitload of extra stuff that wont be used anyway 😅 But yea shorter car might be indeed more fun. Might also wait for summer and hope they add some red interior, that would be no brainer for me 😁 |

I was shopping used g80 manuals and then I was at a dealer who had an HEA G87. Looked pretty nice but they wanted $10k adm so I placed an order at another dealer @ MSRP and continued to test drive G80s and even a G87 with carbon buckets. I was definitely still debating M3 or M2. M3 better colors exterior and interior as well as some other options But M3 would have had 20k-30k miles for same price as a new M2 and they all have the S58 so I went with a new M2. I wasn’t really considering the M4. I think it looks too long and too much like a Mustang, although I do like some Mustangs. Almost bought an 18 GT350 a couple of years back.

So, I’ve owned a 23’ and a 24’ M3 (sold both and both were manuals).
Last summer I went on the Mont Tremblant track with M2’s and M4’s (auto) and I have to say that I’m going to be ordering an M2 once the order bank comes out for the 25’ in July. The M2 is just more fun and more maneuverable than the M3 which feels long and big. Yes the M3/M4 have more options especially for the interior but my personal experience was that the M2 was so much more fun to drive even in auto over the M3’s I’ve owned. The M3 just didn’t feel so sporty enough and I drove in SP+ all the time and personally I still never felt that this car was that special a car. There’s just something about that M2 that the bigger M3/M4 don’t have for my taste but in the end, you should always go with your gut since everyone is different and have different priorities. |

I do believe there are much more coming out for the 25’ order bank in July.
