Anyone here in Michigan? I am down near Grand Rapids and will hopefully have my M2 in a couple of weeks if it ever leaves the port lol.

As of now, I want to see how she drives in the snow but I will more than likely get something for the winter if I don't feel comfortable driving her. But I am going to try it first.

Idc if I have to put chains on her to drive her in the snow, she is going to be my winter baby.

Also, not Michigan, but Chicago

if your in the city it shouldn't be that bad, definitely some good snow tires though. I only drive like 15 mins to work so it not too bad for me but I have a few miles of hilly back roads but it shouldn't be too bad as the traction control has been very good so far in the rain at least lol.

Garage List
I'm an m3 owner lurking and also in GR. Was #2 on the Sharpe list for allocations for an M2. But backed out. Nice to see some active M people on here from the area.

Excited for you to get your car! Maybe it's even happened by now?

I'm in Chicagoland as well, don't mind driving in the snow when I get mine in December.

Nice, I was going though Sharpe but a dealer in Farmington Hills was able to get an allocation about 3 months earlier then what Sharpe was guessing.

I have had my M2 for about 3 weeks or so now and I am loving it! Interested to see how she drives in the snow with some winter tires

I’m in SW Michigan. Picked up the M2 on the 19th.

Going to Tire Rack tomorrow to have the vehicle measured for winter wheels and tires.

Good luck with the winters, I have tried everywhere and the dealer has been the only one able to get some for me (If your going stock sizes).

That’s why I took it to tire rack. They use a laser mapping system and CAD to determine what alternate wheels and tires will fit.

They should have the M2 loaded into their inventory and online configuring tool next week.

Ah, I didn't know they did that, but either way i am trying to stay stock size since I don't want to get a new set of rims yet at least until I decide what ones I want lol.

I was the first M2 brought down to them so sizing will soon be available through their website for a number of wheels and tires. Took about 3 hours but they are giving me whole sale purchase prices after.

How was the RWD over the winter? I’m thinking about picking up a 25 M2, I plan to drive my Camry when the weather gets bad but I might end up getting g caught in some snow.

I bought a second set of wheels and tires for the winter and didn’t have an issue. There were two days with higher snow falls, greater than 6”, that I borrowed my wife’s car to drive into work.

I don't live in Michigan anymore but I grew up in SW Michigan. Lived in Mattawan for nearly 18 years and went to college at Michigan Tech.

I live about 30 mins north of Detroit, and you guys are either rich, insane, or both for driving the M2 in the winter lol.

I had an AWD Lexus IS 250 that I just finished paying off in August and planned on using that for the winter, but it got totaled like 3 weeks ago lol. I’m about to buy an older CR-V and drive it until it explodes.

I’m picking up my car on Monday and it will be in storage on November 1st lol; right after I take it for the break-in service.

It actually drives very well with proper winter tires but the issue you have is the other drivers. I have a rather short commute (10 miles) to work and generally little traffic so its not bad. but i live outside of grand rapids and i work outside of grand rapids. If the weather is too bad I can always use my wifes SUV
