Installed my BMC airfilters and removed the
carbon traps. It took less than 30 minutes. I swear it did add a tad to intake noise. Could be a placebo...

Same. I plucked out the traps with a pair of needle-nose pliers and managed to preserve them fully intact. Yeh, start to finish was about 30 min. I "swear" I can hear a little more of a whistle.
