Is there no support for wired-only Carplay?

To my understanding, ID8 doesn't support wired Android Auto nor CarPlay. Wireless only.

Yes Android guys can stream YouTube into iDrive 8.

Ill create a video and show you guys how to do it, completely free, if you'd like.

But it's wireless, not a wired solution just FYI.

I want a wired solution so I can use a Magic Box (or the like) -- I don't care so much about YouTube, I want the broad flexibility of Zoom, Chrome.. everything.

Only if one day M2s ship with iDrive 8.5
Current M2s are all iDrive 8, so no. Maybe at LCI they’ll start shipping with 8.5. Then those will have these features.

I thought from 8 to 8.5 would be just a software update. Thanks!

Different hardware, so there’s no retrofitting it. Only specific models are getting it now. Maybe it’ll be the standard for all one day.
