Part of the parts shortage. Same reason you cant get lumbar on the passenger seat (its a driver seat only option).

Right, that makes sense. Hmm but then why leave the option to add them on the configurator for the M2 and M8, but remove them from M3/M4 ?

M Carbon Bucket seat availability

They ar labor-intensive to build. BMW says, "The seats are mostly hand-made as they are a very complex part. Pre-production of the carbon parts takes about 3 hours (worker time), while final assembly is done in about 120min."

They are built in-house at the Munich factory, which is unusual for a car manufacturer. Here is a video about the seats; the carbon bucket segment starts at 1:38.

Was given a week 29 Production start but went to 150 yesterday. Happy Day, moved up about 3 weeks from original estimate

Typically when it hits status 150 you still have about another two weeks +/- until it actually begins production. Our latest G87 did exactly that after being moved up by three weeks.

Edit, I did not suspect that we will see 2024s moved up since MY24 production does not begin until the first week of August. We might see some cars enter production at the very end of July, but we will not see them roll off the line until August 1 - On.

Edit 2, after some reflection, we could see 2024s roll off the line on July 30/31. I have seen this happen at Plant Spartanburg.

On Monday, ask your CA or call the Genius line for a production date, that will help determine approximate delivery time.
Thanks! I added the car. It says its a 23 model thus so far.

Congrats!
Thanks for the info. Patience is key I guess. If it comes in October, I guess I will have a little time to drive the car before the weather gets bad.

Then that is what it will be. The consumer online tracker is already displaying the 2024 G87s, “Order Received.”

Week 32 is the first week of 2024 production.

Being a long-time reader since I placed my order at my dearship. Btw registration page in G87 forum doesn't work, so I had to click registration from F87 page.

My M2 has been in "Quality Check" since June 8th. Finally called my SA, and he said it has a stop sale due to left strut tower issue.

Yeah, so it’s weird cause a buddy who also got his allocation the same day I did (6/1) has near the same spec with you minus the auto and his is already “ready for transportation “. Mine went to “Quality Check” on Saturday.

You don’t. No one internally is going to disclose that kind of information.

I asked my CA and he sent me my Vehicle Inquiry and even thought I’m status 155 (Assembly finish/quality check) It shows nothing for a stop sale but as TUD mentioned, I doubt they will show it.

Our current P1 unit has been sitting at 160 for two plus weeks. There are two things that are probably prohibiting it from moving. The wireless charging and/or the left front strut.

Thankfully I didn’t do the wireless charging and I went into Quality check on Friday. But, a buddy of mine who got his allocation the same day I did is already at “ready for transport”.

This unit entered assembly, completed assembly, went to QC, and then final assembly all in one day. It has sat at 160 ever since.

What issue with the wireless charger? I know they had the recall on the digital key but heard nothing about wireless charger issues.
