Discounts on 2025 BMW M2?
With over 300 unsold 2024 units throughout the US, should we expect some incentives on the MY25 M2?
Although the 2025 is a very nice option with minimal updates, it is very close to the MY23/24. I do not think these differences are enough to sway a buyer to pay 10s of thousands more for a MY25. Used 23-24s have been doing AWFUL on Mannheim and dealers cannot even wholesale them. The new units are also sitting unsold probably because people are unable to stomach insane rates and others like myself would rather take the updated model if we are ontaking such rates. Personally, I ordered an MY25 voodoo blue manual with buckets and carbon roof. Dealer is playing hardball and offering sticker only...personally do not think that they are doing me any favors selling a car at sticker in such market. How do we think it will play out? |

I wouldn't expect much this early into the model year but I'm sure there will be more leverage on MY25s this time next year. I was happy just to get msrp and no add-ons.
The way I see it, msrp is the "price you pay" for wanting the car asap, same way you have to camp overnight if you want the latest iPhone on release day... if that's still a thing. |

There's threads out there with cars in SOCAL with ADMs on G87s. If you can get a car at MSRP right now (25) and you want it, then by all means do it. If you want to save a $1000 or so, on a near $80,000 with options, then by all means, wait a year and save 1% on the price. I know what I would do but YMMV.

Considering somewhere around 6,000 2024 G87s would have been shipped to the US and there are more than 300 dealers, 300 unsold cars doesn’t seem like that many.

There's 2 brand new 2024 's sitting at my dealer that just arrived last week. A bit strange as they NEVER have unsold G87 M2s there. Everybody wanting a 2025 I guess..

I waited until now to see deals on the 2024, but there weren't any. So now I'm going to wait until this time next year for deals on the MY25. If there aren't any gosh darnit, I'll wait another year and see if there's any for the MY....I don't know, whatever the previous year is at that point. You'll see! You'll all rue the day I save $3,000 off MSRP.

I’m hoping the dealer installs my Lightweight spoiler and oil cooler cover as part of my deal but I’m not holding my breath. I’m ordering my car around Thanksgiving.

300 seems like a small amount compared to the number of dealerships. I can perhaps see the 2024's getting discounted a bit if they sit for a while, but I bet most dealerships will wait and see. Many people want a car today and can't wait two + months for one. I can't see the 2025's getting discounted unless they start stacking up. Are the discounts on the 2024 M4's? The dealership that I ordered my 2025 M2 from seems to have plenty of M4's, especially the convertibles. I would have bought one myself if it wasn't for that awful front end.

Agree seems like not that many but idk. Couple months ago when i first started looking at M2's in my area there were 12 MY24s. Not on the lot though, I actually couldn't find one to look at close by. They were all either pending production, in production, or pending transport. Fast-forward to now and there is only 5 MY24s left listed. They sell before they even have a chance to take pics of them on the showroom so either they're customer orders or people are buying them just based off of specs/stock pics just before they are delivered. There is one though that is sitting but im guessing it's cause it's a $81k every possible option + bunch of m performance carbon fiber added on.

I'm also curious what 'AWFUL' is on Mannheim. I don't have access to MMR, but I know my MY24 w/ ~800 miles on the ODO would fetch an instant $60k offer (Carvana / CarMax). With an original 64k sticker price, that's around a 6% loss. Not too shabby in my opinion. I would assume the higher MSRP vehicles would take more of a hit as my example is pretty bare bones. For fun, I plugged in the mileage to reflect 9,500mi and the offer came back as $58.4k. So an additional 4% depreciation (total 10%), which tracks with (if not above) expectations of a used car that isn't a GT3RS.

While waiting was talking to a salesman and he was asking me about my M2. Seems a used one just like mine (ZB and a 6-speed) just sold. Was only on the lot a few days. He said desire for used ones is very high. |

I want a MY25 because Twilight Purple.
I don't expect a discount for an ordered car. I don't expect to pay above MSRP, because they aren't selling me anything. I walked in, give a deposit and placed an order. All they need to do is collect the margin on wholesale vs MSRP.

If the market were as bad for the M2 as you're claiming then you wouldn't have to make this post because it would be clear in the discounts that are being offered by dealers that you can get them cheaper.

The starting mid-$60k range MSRP is attractive to "casual"/impulse shoppers that might not truly know everything about an M-car. I'm thinking of the buyer that just walks into the dealership with a plan to buy a new car, but doesn't know what they want. Might be coming in for a standard 2 series or a 3 series just to get into a BMW, and the salesmen is able to upsell an additional 100-150hp for $10k more or even at even cost (i.e., M340i). Who knows what dealers are actually letting go of their used M2s at; I'm sure there's some room for negotiation - could see an additional $1-$3k discount on and they get them on their trade-in. Unless buyers out there have a fetish for a worn-in driver's seat, there's no reason outside of lack of supply to go used for same price.

So as long as they aren't trying to mark up my ordered car, I'm good with MSRP. I don't mind paying part of the rent, just not all of it.
