So I drove my m2 in the snow for the first time the other day, I have stock sized (Sottozero) winters on. Man very impressed all and all. However it wasn't a very deep snow and a bit of ice here and there too. She handled great and when I did play a bit on the empty road she recovered just fine. Now if only the other drivers on the road were decent drivers I would have no worries ...

I have noticed the mirrors kind of freeze, so I would recommend turning off the auto open and close mirrors imo.

How have you guys fared so far if you drove in some snow?

I also have snow tires (Sottozero ) on stock rims.

Was great. I am sure I could do something stupid and lose the rear end, but that is applicable year round afaik. I always test the road by slamming on the brakes at the stop sign outside my house. I had zero slip on unplowed roads (less then 2 inches of snow). Felt confident the whole drive.

Anyone been driving in the snow? i have a couple times until the big storm but the only reason i havent is because the plow push the berms into the lanes and you basically have to ram them to get passed it. I am gonna see tomorrow how well she holds on in the snow, the road here are still pretty snowy but have been maintained at least.

I have stock wheels on Michelin Alpine 5s in Chicago area.
Obviously Slow gentle inputs, it does well and have been able to change lanes on highway to cut across the slush and snow berms .
I do miss Awd on the days we have had but I’ve never been stuck. Getting going from a stop takes a gentle foot but once on the move it feels solid.
Slush and mix is handled very well. I love the oem wheels for winter but if they existed in OEM 19/20, would do a more aggressive winter tire for safety over performance.
Happy it will be above freezing and raining next week.

Yeah it slowed down with the snow the last couple of days and she handles amazingly but like you said, take off slowly and be mindful while turning and i have had no issues. I travel some "well traveled" back roads so my biggest concern is when plow clear out driveways they always seem to leave large berms of snow going across the street and those can be a pain

Same area as you but run 245/19 square with same tires. Are you running 32psi?

Im running OEM size with Sottozero in the Grand Rapids MI, im sitting around 31-32 psi

I absolutely LOVE driving in the snow! Turn off the nannies and let 'er rip! Maybe next year I'll take the M2 out if we get some snow and play around. For now I'll have to reminisce about vehicles past and roads full of snow.
