What cars would you produce if you owned a car company?
Personally if i own something like lets say Lamborghini, i would offer the Manual for the Huracan, offer RWD And AWD. What company would you own and what will you create?

I guess I'll go with BMW and I'd build a super car that competes directly with the Ferrari 488 GTB and Lamborghini Huracan. It would look similar to the i8 but have a fire breathing V8 instead.

A 300-350hp, RWD, compact sedan between 3,000-3,200lbs that is reliable and comes with a 6MT and LSD. Basically like an E46 M3 sedan, but with fewer luxuries to save weight/complexity and made more reliable. I love my E90 M3, but would trade some power and luxury for less weight (and cost).

If I chose BMW, I would have so many posts, they'd take up an entire page. So, I'll pass.
I feel like Subaru squanders their potential more than any other brand, so I'll pick them. Impreza- Offer a proper sport trim w/ a 6MT and 200hp. WRX- Doing pretty well there, just add a hatch model and up the refinement levels a bit. Drop the CVT and add a DCT would be nice. STI- This thing is ancient. Start over. New engine, new interior, hatchback option, at least 350hp. Legacy- Make a GT again using the WRX hardware- engine, trans, brakes, etc. Maybe even a slightly harder Spec B? Forester- Offer a manual in the 2.0T models. Crosstrek- Get the WRX powerplant and accompanying hardware in there right away! That car is begging for it! BRZ- At the very least an STI model with another 50hp/tq and upgraded brakes, rolling stock, etc. A new SVX with a 400hp+ turbo H6 would be pretty dope, too. |

My car would be use the spaceframe/plastic body construction pioneered by GM in the late 1970's (used to build the Fiero, Staturns, and Transport). It would be front engine and rear drive (no AWD crap). It would come in a 4-door sedan and a 2 door sedan like the E30. It would have a 2.0L direct injected in-line 6, 6-sp manual trans and a LSD diff. It'd be engineered to weigh 2,500 pounds and safety would be achieved by use of Styrofoam cores in the doors, and front and rear fenders, and in the bumpers. The spaceframe would be injected with epoxy foam to add sound deadening and rigidity. The EPS would be what BMW used for the E86 Z4 and seats would be the same as the E86 Z4 sport seats. It would probably look close to an E30 too .
Well, you asked...

A manual transmission can be set to "comfort", "sport", and "track" modes simply by the technique and speed at which you shift it; it doesn't need "modes", modes are for manumatics that try to behave like a real 3-pedal manual transmission. If you can money-shift it, it's a manual transmission. "Yeah, but NO ONE puts an automatic trans shift knob on a manual transmission."

this is a great thread. Ive always hypothetically thought this question in my head!
I would own a japanese car company (subaru, nissan, or toyota, ect...) and I would bring back something similiar to the modern skyline GTR! It would have to be a japanese 2 door sports car with a very light chassis. Something like a BRZ would actually be perfect. BUT, it would have to be AWD and by an inline 6 motor twin turbo. Also, it would have to have a new MSRP in the 40's. that would be killer in my opinion and if a company made it I would be all over it. Imagine basically an AWD BRZ with a 2JZ motor! and at a price point of 40K. that's what I would produce!

A small SUV that made me a lot of money and with all of this money I would buy whatever I wanted. The thrill of struggling to make a super car and probably going broke doesn't interest me if there was a to make a lot more money with something most want.

Porsche: get rid of that illusion of supposed rear-engined 'superiority' and finally let the B/C take its rightful place (through the best engines, eqt, not hand-me-downs) as the BEST sportscar my company makes.
