Exhaust pricing

Anyone know what the going price for OEM exhaust is? Got an aftermarket exhaust so need to get rid of mine, no space for it and moving across country soon with just my car.
Full exhaust from midpipes

In full transparency, there’s no market for it. My shop actually junks them after they replace since so many people go aftermarket.

Your best bet is keeping it incase you ever sell and want to go stock. Or just tossing it since you have no space. You’d have to hope and pray someone needs to convert back to stock and did not keep their OEM.

Very unlikely.

Pretty much what I was thinking but hoped there’s been a few up for sale at least. Maybe once leases start coming up someone will look for one if they tossed theirs away

I've got a giant pile of porsche OEM stuff that used buyers don't want. They just want to take a car and mod the crap out of it. So BMW is probably the same.

Almost certainly. I think those G87 exhausts on eBay have been up a long long time.

But makes sense. For every 1 person that needs to put a stock exhaust back on (and it’s not covered by insurance for a collision), there are probably 100 people who have removed stock exhaust.

Mine is a lease also but my residual is 37k and I know when time comes, it’ll be worth a whole lot more than 37k..

Yes many just have the shop keep em and dispose of them for them. Did an aftermarket exhaust on many cars and still had my OEM 991 exhaust in a box what 3.5 yrs after car was traded and couldn't sell it on ebay OR Rennlist forums for the life of me. RS5 Sportback OEM Audi Sport exhaust...same thing. Sat in my garage for what 1.5 yrs before I had to pay someone to junk it and take it away. Usually that is how it goes...unfortunately. Shops may get some little $$ for the cats and scap metal but not much.

Get someone to haul it away....or leave it at the shop unless you need it to reconvert back when you sell the car. Also remember you won't get full retail value back on the aftermarket one when you switch back but probably more than you will on the OEM one.

That is weird tho as most lease returns could give a rats azz what was left on the car upon my return. Exhaust esp if done well many would hardly notice. Swap out tips from name branded/logo ones and would definitely not notice. My F82 M4 came with Remus exhaust on it...I was pleasantly surprised when I bought it. Kept it on a trade as guess what finding an OEM F82 exhaust and guaranteeing it would fit on retrofit was like a HS calculus project! So yeah...what everyone else is saying.

BTW, to the OP...you are in California as I am. Wait to you have to smog it or get a ticket for excessive noise. You are going to wish you kept it.

This is why I’m holding mine. While you should be able to find a smog shop that doesn’t do visual inspection, not sure I want to risk it. Though that first smog check is 9 years away…
