Who has the lightest G87?
Featured on BIMMERPOST.com We'll, jritt@essex weighed a G87 on their scale and got 3635 lbs. I'm assuming this is the lightest configuration, carbon everything with a manual. Considering G82/83 owners are getting similar numbers on their cars, this makes total sense. Anyone with a lighter car than that?

I've seen nothing lighter than that. PhD I think is currently at 3680 or so.

This is a super cool thread, lets just make sure that everyone is weighing their cars with the same amount of fuel as that makes a big difference. Full tank or very near full tank would be ideal to get a sense of how much weight was shaved versus manufacturers listed curb weight.

Battery was negligible, but I could tell a difference when I swapped out the wheels.
Combo of HAS and wheels was definitely noticeable, and improved the steering feel too. I could save another 15 or so lbs if I went with 963M or Apex wheels. But I like the look of the 825s with the G87 design. |

JackiePhD is at 3,609lbs last I checked, but he's basically stripped the car an added a roll cage with race buckets. He also has the auto.
Me personally, so far: 6MT CF Roof That should mean the car weighs around 3,715lbs +/- fuel. Future plans to get to around 3,620: AA Single Midpipe (-30 lbs) Apex VS-5RS (-35 lbs) M3/M4 OEM Lithium Battery (- 30 lbs) I don't want to upset the weight balance or practicality of the car too much, so doubt I'll do a rear seat delete. I'd love to get to 3,600. Swapping carbon ceramic brakes from the M3/M4 would shed some more weight, but they're way too expensive.

Un-sprung weight loss is always the most noticeable. Particularly with a powerful street vehicle, it takes a lot of sprung weight removal to make a noticeable difference.
