At what point in the build process is it too late to make changes?

At what point is it too late, for, say, transmission or interior color choice?

Not doing an individual color on my MY25 - just FPB (I just read if you do an individual color you cannot change after order submission).

As soon as the car enters the production queue everything in the build is locked. You would still be able to add port installed options after that point and up until the car reaches the stateside port.

What are the steps / signs that happen BEFORE it enters the production queue?

Most of that stage is working with the sales rep to get the allocation, selecting all your specs, and then submitting that build. It was super quick for me during that stage since I learned of getting an allocation about 3 days before it went into production. Once it hits production then you get a Vin number and you get access to the build tracker.

Thanks. Build is in the bank, first in line, just waiting on the dealer’s first allocation. Sounds like I’m gonna get what I built, unless I make a change quick, lol. Allocations probably don’t drop on Saturdays.

Ahh, should have known. Was sucked into thinking the discussion was about MY25.

Until the VIN is assigned you canake changes.
Be aware that if you make changes it could send you back to "order received". Not that it will, but it can.

You could end up wanting a wheel color change and since they sourced the production ahead of time that wheel might not be available for 4 additional weeks because they are already spoke for.

Ideally you don't make late changes.
We really don't need to discuss individual options but normally if you are doing individual, your config is locked when they accept the individual build and not additional changes possible.

Not sure how the individual paint on the M2 will work.

I know for my i4, once they accepted the individual leather build, they locked all changes.
