The more I look at these pictures of used cars on the road the more I wonder how valid this "ride height" issue is. Maybe we just saw tons of pre production cars on shipping blocks or with unsettled springs?

The side-on shots look great. Maybe a few mill at most...

A well taken care of, previous gen-GT4 is still going for north of 100k... I wont do it just because i am angry i passed a few up a while back.
I almost picked a white one up in 2019, I could have owned it for 4 years "free" well, almost free...

Yeah, I'm with you. I guess that's the 'Porsche tax' that everyone keeps talking about. I do think it's still worth it at that price as I don't see Porsche making future ICE caymans with that level of analog engagement. Add't, I do think that the upfront costs are definitely higher than a M2, but on the back-end, you may end up getting back a lot what you paid vs depreciation on a M2. (Or at least that's what I have to tell myself to justify it haha)
