Front passenger headlight sensor - need advice

I got 2023 230i xDrive.

On the driver front side there’s a plastic rod and a sensor for headlight vertical level. My rod was broken so I purchased a new one. Apparently my headlights are pointing up now.

Could you please share some pictures of the arm orientation on your car?

That yellow circle on my pictures is pointing up if to install it and close the plastic gray bracket around the metal part. As a temporary solution I moved the rod a little down. Only after that my lights are pointing towards the ground level.

I got part number of the rod 37-14-8-851-838 and BMW confirmed it’s a correct part. But it feels like it’s too long…

Not sure what’s the issue about. Maybe it requires a software calibration or maybe I have a rear rod/sensor which is broken too? Just visually I didn’t see any on the rear side…

Yes definitely! Another confirmation that I probably ordered a wrong rod 37-14-8-851-838 - it says for RWD.
Mine is AWD and part number for that is 37-14-8-851-843. Unfortunately BMW couldn’t confirm the figment saying that ‘843’ is only for M240ix. I think it should be for 230ix as well regardless their catalog

Does anyone know if this sensor should be recalibrated after the rod replacement? Maybe in ISTA or other software?

Put the part number in the search of that site I gave you. It shows 230ix for the part ending 843

Yep! Also just went to a local BMW and saw that 843 in person and waiting that part already. Thank you!
