Does Apple CarPlay have Turn by Turn?
For 2022 M240i:
I use Android Auto, and it shows the next turn on both the HUD and the instrument panel. However, my wife uses Apple CarPlay and it doesn't show any turn-by-turn info on either. 1) Is Apple CarPlay supposed to do turn by turn on the dash? 2) Anyone know what setting it is to enable it? We tried for a while and haven't been able to figure it out. Thanks! |

It doesn’t work with Waze, but it’s supposed to with Apple Maps and Google maps. I use Waze because of the better supported police reports. Definitely don’t get anything on the dash or hud

Can you demonstrate what you specifically mean by "turn-by-turn"? I use Apple CarPlay, and I feel like I get turn-by-turn directions... but maybe there is an official format to displaying the data that qualifies it as "turn-by-turn" that I am not familiar with.

When you use BMW maps you get the next turn guidance on the HUD and Dashboard. I get similar guidance on Android Auto but not my wife's Apple Car Play.

So I just got an M2, and when I go to use Apple Maps, it does not change to the turn by turn viewpoint on either the dash or the screen on the right side. It stays in the “top down” view, like when you’re picking your route.
Google maps switches the perspective to the turn by turn though. I’d prefer to use Apple Maps, any ideas on how to fix this? |
