Is there really no other way to remove the fake engine sound on the G87?

Besides coding it out with Bimmercode?

(assuming you want it 100% removed in all modes etc)

There's no other way?

I’m pretty sure there’s an option to turn it off somewhere in the iDrive options, maybe under the driving settings

I believe the Awron canflap controller can eliminate it as well, but it’s much pricier than the coding option.

Interesting! From EAS website product description:

“* Sound Tuning: Factory ASD (Active Sound Design: artificial exhaust sound via the speakers) can be deactivated”

Maybe it just didn’t get configured correctly when they installed it?

Yeah I never used the computer program that came with it, that’s why.

Awron is an excellent product. Total control of stock valves plus elimination of fake engine noise when set up.

In Bimmercode, navigate to "Receiver Audio Module RAM"
There, you select "Expert Mode"
In Expert Mode, you select "3001_Audio und ASD"
There, you find all options starting with "ASD" and set them to "disabled" or "nicht aktiv"
Exit Expert Mode
On the bottom of the screen, tap "Activation Codes" Find the one labelled "ASD" and select "Deactivate"

I just removed the activation code. I think that kills the whole thing.
