Absolutely hilarious, sad and infuriating that BMW doesn’t allow you to bind M Modes to M1/M2 configs. Definitely one of my biggest gripes with the car especially considering how simple the implementation would be

Now that you have been on the 19×10 +11 fronts for a bit, any rubbing or observations? Fit looks great just curious about functionality since I believe that's basically the same as oem with like a 20mm spacer?

Not sure why he’s being so secretive about this… maybe he’s the one who makes the wires or something.

Same fitment as OEM with 15mm spacer, no rubbing. Probably going to add a 3mm spacer at some point.

All the same. I’d pay. My biggest gripe since getting the car back in the spring. I drive on M1 with display always on sport. All this button pressing driving me crazy. Compounded by display button not responding on first press half the time.

In terms of overall usability, with the 07/2023.53 software update, the delay in selecting a mode where “Confirm OK?” Has to be cleared has now been eliminated, so a rapid double press of the M1 or M2 button now works, before you had to wait about 2 seconds between the two presses.

Really? This drives me nuts having to wait. I just update in the car?

He means the M Mode button not being super responsive. It’s my experience too… and the screen is slow etc. just cumbersome for something we do every single time we start driving.

But good to know the delay to confirm was removed! Apparently it was never a thing, then they made the delay, and now took it away again. Go figure lol

Not sure if it is generally rolled out in the US yet (it should show up in the app or car when available for install), it was available in the EU and Canada earlier this month, but supposedly some US dealers have updated cars, as opposed to the OTA updates we had in Canada. Maybe BMW NA uses Canada as the smaller scale testing ground before general US rollout?

I find M1 and M2 are instant response in my car (I have the exhaust sound off in M1, so when pressing the buttons and not looking at the screen, I can hear the sound and notice the throttle change immediately). Although I do agree selecting the M-mode console button with the Sport and Race modes for the display is a bit slow, but I’m less worried about that than the actual physical setup modes that I change frequently.

Same. The M buttons are instant.

It’s that M Mode button that’s slow and unresponsive. Luckily it’s just the one time, but it’s every time you drive…

Apparently there’s a new gadget that ties it to a preset, but you have to PM the guy so he can say where to get it :P

I very strongly favor the sport display. Much prefer HUD appearance. More importantly, it disables lane assist, which I find highly annoying if not outright dangerous. It yanked the wheel out of my hands once in the rain and I refuse to have it on. It got confused by left turn lane in the middle of the road.

For consistency I have the driver assistance features off in all states, so don’t need to select a mode at each start to switch them off.

I find M1 and M2 are instant. M1 is just engine in sport plus, M2 is kill mode so it does prompt a confirm screen due traction/ dsc. So M2 requires a double tap and M1 a single. But no delay in either so maybe the update was rolled out in production vehicles after a certain date?

Latest for Over The Air update is 07/2023.53, but only seems to be available via the App outside of the US, so far.

iDrive 8 introduced a 2 second delay for the confirmation when MDM/TC off was set in the presets M1/M2.
So you had to push the button, a confirmation screen would pop up but the “confirm” button (a second push of the button) would be inactive for 2 seconds. This delay didn’t exist prior to iDrive 8.
Versions 11/2022 and 03/2023 had the delay.

Now that we’re on 07/2023, apparently the delay was removed. Just in time for me to not test it because my presets don’t require confirmation lol but it’s good news

Finally got around to installing the Puddle Lights and added a noise maker aka Cold Air Intake.

My app shows 11/2022.44. No update available. Would dealer have an update in US at this time?
