Which o2 spacer to use for downpipes?

Anyone here installs catless downpipes and use some sort of spacers that didn't throw up any CEL's?

About to get my downpipes installed and would rather not have any CEL's if possible. Not tuning this year so can't code them out.

Awesome, looks like they have a ton of them on their site. Can you link me the exact ones you used for the s58? Much appreciated btw!

You do know by not having the sensor in the exhaust stream you are restricting the function of the O2 sensor from accurate measurement to control fuel mapping the rear sensor is only looking to see if the cat is working efficiently you only need to code out the rear sensor

Code out? Can’t you just use this o2 sensor de fouler only on the rear sensor?

Why would you need to do anything to the sensors at all they are both needed to make the car run well with good performance they only affect performance when they do not work correctly or send the correct info to the ecm

Didn’t you just say thought that the rear sensor is only used to check for cat functionality. That shouldn’t affect fuel mixture or anything else.

If the front sensor is having slow response but not causing a lean or rich condition the rear sensor can make corrections and will set a code

The two rear sensors need to get some exhaust gases by them. In the video above I believe he was using catted spacers with a catted downpipe and was not getting enough flow to the sensor to get a proper reading.

This wouldn't be an issue with catless.

So, what's the final verdict for catless DP? Spacers on all the 02 sensors? I keep almost pulling the trigger on this, lol

You need 2 catted spacers on the lower o2's only.

Did you end up getting a the MAD Catless downpipe and O2 sensors? If so, have you had the cel turn on?

I am debating on running the same setup with jb4.

Thanks!

These sensors work with heat.

That is all. They dont measure air content etc.

The rear sensor must always give a bit colder reading than the front sensor. When the CAT is removed, both sensors give the same heat reading, and CEL pops up.

The spacer, or so called "fooler", takes the 2nd probe further away from the pipe, in doing so it will register lower heat, and the car is happy....

So none of this stuff is required if getting a tune correct? I just ordered catless DP/MP and I plan to tune with BM3.

When I had my 370z and Q60 tuned this was never an issue, even without a tune most of the time no problem. Most test pipes or downpipes had the O2 sensor pulled back from the actual pipe by an extender or J bung welded on to the pipe and never threw codes.
