It's godawful ugly.

The only car like that I would consider is the Macan, and the F-Pace.. mayyyybe the GLC.

Just my opinion of course, but I feel like there are far better options if you're looking for a small "crossover".

Saw on the road couple times and one word and it's "ugly". Same reaction to the Ghibli. Just my opinion.

My wife has a Macan S, but it is such a chick car and used to have Cayenne. If I were to lose my mind and become an SUV guy, I would think hard about the GLE Coupe and just a good old fashioned Range Rover. I like the G55, but that thing drives like shit. Macan, however, perfect for my wife and she really likes it. I wish we would have gone GTS route, but the GTSs were just starting to hit dealers when we purchased ours and their availability was about nil at that time.

That said, I would be very open to trying ou the Maserati. Candidly, I think it looks much better than that dated, unattractive X5, X3 platform.

Buy Macan instead. Better in every way, and keeps much better value.

F Pace is good too, slightly bigger than Macan with better rear seats, if those are important. However resale is likely much weaker.

Friend of mine has a Ghibli, car sounds good, engine bay much sexier than M3, interior is more luxurious than ///M but the exterior looks like a Buick.

They are completely different cars so it's hard to compare apples and oranges.

I realize the M is no S Class, but I'd take what I have over the Ghibli interior any day. That interior has "Chrysler" all over it.

Yup. My buddy has a Ghibli. Engine sounds good that's about it. Rest of the car is crappy. Car looks like a Buick with a Trident.

In my opinion the Macan GTS or Audi SQ5 are the best looking vehicles in this class. My wife has a SQ5 that I have modded and with wider wheels and lower stance it looks pretty good.

Not a fan of it, but it's more of a Cayenne/X6/GLE competitor in terms of price and size than a Macan/F-Pace/GLC competitor like a lot of people are saying.

FWIW Maserati still has better brand cachet than any German brand so if that's what's you're after it's not a bad choice as long as it's new and/or under warranty.

I think it's a good looking SUV but as typical of recent Maseratis, the interior is sub-standard. Like the Ghibli, there are questionable materials and build quality in places, along with Chrysler 300 parts in your cabin. Plus, the interior design is very boring.

With that being said, I'm happy there are so many options now with luxury SUVs. The F pace and Levante are both mediocre but it's good to have some more choices. I still think the X5 and Q7 are the best all-rounders in their class.

The Velar is going to make the X3/Q5/GLC/RX segment very interesting. The 3 little 'utes from the German automakers are good vehicles but are very ubiquitous. The Macan and Velar add some style and panache to the segment.
